No, thats something alot of people misconstrue. Using a gentle exfoliator can be very beneficial to your skin but using every day when you have mild acne can only spread the bacteria to other parts of your face. See the microbeads in the exfoliants trap your oil and dirt from your face and smear it to other open pores. Using an exfoliator is good once every week and a half or 2 weeks, I'd prefer. Wash your face in the shower with a Neutrogena cleanser. Use a cottonball to apply toner to your face, wait til it dries and apply a light moisturizer. I use Clean&Clear. You should see results in a few weeks. ALSO, Never wear your make up to bed! It really really affects your face. Always use baby oil to remove eye make up and the same toner to remove foundations, blush, powder, etc. This is what I did to get rid of my mild pimples & left over scars. Good luck!♥
Oh, and do this everyday!!

use proactive solution and u will never see a pimple again .=)
Wash your face about once or twice a day, no more than twice a day, because it will dry your skin which causes even more acne because when your face is dry the oil glands on your face will produce even more to make your face moist.
Don't touch your face at all, even putting your hand underneath your chin or popping a pimple. The bacteria on your hand will travel onto your face which will increase acne.
Drink lots of water, about 6-8 glasses a day. This will prevent your face from drying and help cleanse your face.
Try not drink too much coke, pepsi, mountain dew, etc.
Wash your hands if you really want to touch something on your face, and make sure you keep your nails clean without dirt underneath it.
Right after you wash your face in the morning and night, apply some skin cream lotion to prevent from drying. But if you have an acne product already, apply that instead.

Use a good cleanser and toner, its worth spending a bit of cash on them as cheap ones don't tend to be as effective. You can also get lotions and moistyrisers that help, I tried a free sample of freederm and that was good but it is expensive to buy. Look for their web site and order a sample. Some of my friends put toothpaste on their spots before bed as it dries it soaks up some of the puss? Good luck.

There are many cheap and effective home remedies for acne. Tomato slices, turmeric, papaya juices and home made face packs will treat existing pimples and prevent further problems. More remedies at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/acne.html
