I don't need a scientific definition, just a PRACTICAL way of knowing what each looks like.

The underlying tones...

Strawberry has reddish tones

Ash (or dirty) has green or gray tones

Dark has brown tones

blond has violet tones.

They are the components that actually reflect light off the shaft and show up as different colors.
