if your motehrboard broke then you did not lose your programs, they are stored on your hard drive.
if that broke then yes you lost it all.
if your motehrboard broke and you reformatted and reinstalled windows to set up your new motheboard then you made a mistake... and lost everything again.

If you've wiped your hard drive then u have lost everything.
But that is not the same as your motherboard going bang.
If it had you would not have been able to restart your computer.
Just a thought, have you got a virus.
If you have you may have a job getting rid if you've XP.
700+ songs. Thats sad man. Next time backup.
Make mp3 disks. 100+ songs per cd.

why in hell you erased everything that was on your hard drive, if your problem was at the motherboard??????
it's like breaking your cars engine, and moving outta town to fix it...
oh, btw, you did loose all your data.
this is called the hardest way to learn.

if it's working it's working
if you're saying you had to "format" or erase all data and reinstall the operating system, yup - you lost it all
This is why you MUST backup!
