Its just that I see so many using them, nobody seems afraid of getting caught.

Yes they have - but then you have people who light cigarettes while driving, reach into the glove box for sweets or their maps - aren't THEY breaking the law, too?

See dozens of people using mobile phones when driving every day, so must the police, yet no one ever seems to be prosecuted. Would any U.K. police officer care to tell us why?

In America it is not illegal and you can see every male or female S>O>B enjoying a stupid conversation and causing accidents. You can actually see people jumping a red light while on the bloody cell phone....Absolutely unaware of it.

Why would you think they hadn't? They have and deservedly so, the law should triple the present fines, and remove drivers off the road if they persist.
