The files aren't stored on your motherboard but instead on the Hard Disk. When you get a replacement motherboard or PC, you can attach your old hard drive again using an IDE cable and they will still be there. If you add the hard drive to a new PC then you will have to put it on the second IDE channel.
Hope this helps

Your hard disk will probably be okay, in which case install your hard disk as a slave drive into a new computer. The hard disk will be visable on 'my computer' and transfer all your songs over to your main hard disk. If your hard disk is damaged, then there are data recovery agencies that can help you restore information, but the service can cost hundreds of pounds.

Your songs aren't on your motherboard! They're on your harddrive which can still be read after you get the motherboard replaced or by using a hard drive reader.

take your hard drive out off the computer, take it around a friends who has a computer. set your hard drive as a slave. then your friend can pull off file and burn them to a disk. then once you got you computer fixed ( cheap just to buy a new one ) then you have your files on disk ready to go onto new computer.

Get a new motherboard.
All your info is stored on your hard drive and NOT your motherboard.
