I recently updated my browser to the latest version of WIE (7.0), but now I can no longer open PDF documents! I rely heavily on newsletters, online journals, etc. I had no problem opening Adobe docs with 6.0; I'm beginning to think I should not have updated. However, it is what it is, so what can I do now? Where do I go from here? Please help.

An immense "thank you" to everyone. It turns out my problem was actually mediocre. You were right, I hadn't updated to the latest version of Adobe, that is why my browser wouldn't open the documents. I thought I had, which is why I freaked, but apparently I did something wrong. When I went back and retraced my steps, re-updated to the latest Adobe program, everything worked out fine. Although, I'm still a little apprehensive about this new IE. Thanks again.

One has nothing to do with the other. If you mean that you can no longer open a pdf file from within your browser (as a browser helper object or plug-in), then you should reinstall adobe pdf reader. Use the latest version.
NO! Dont go back to IE6. You are asking for BIG trouble if you do. There is NOTHING wrong with IE7. Older applications (like adobe reader v6) are the problem...not IE. The older versions were designed to plug into IE6 with absolutely NO guarantees with being compatible with future versions. Why do you think they keep updating themselves????
No - I am not a Microsoft employee or stock holder. Just an informed IT person.

I have been using IE7 for two weeks now and have had no real problems. It is slower because of Website checking, but that can be turned off under Tools, and Phishing Filter. I am using Adobe reader 7.0 and it seems to work fine without reloading. I also use MSN & Yahoo Messengers 7.5 and AVG 7.5 free virus software. I did have to reinstall Windows automatic updates, Active X, Yahoo Tool Bar~Spyware Scan and Menu which contains File, Edit, View Favorites, Tools, and Help. There may be some other things that need attention, but think it will work just fine. Hope this will be of help.

I am using Internet Explorer 7 and I don't have that problem. Maybe you need to download the latest version of Adobe Reader.

As a last resort you can always revert back to IE6. Click Start > Control Panel > add or Remove Programs > scroll down and find Windows Internet Explorer 7 and click on it to highlight it and give you the remove option and click Remove. It will automatically revert back to your previous version of Internet Explorer.

Don't feel alone, you're not the only one that's encountering problems with this little bug... I had the same problem, I had to update to Adobe seven, this fixed my problem. You can also rollback to Internet Explorer six, you do this by going to add remove programs, put a checkmark in show Microsoft updates, you'll find this in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Then delete Internet Explorer seven, this will roll you back to Internet Explorer six

You can go back to IE6
To uninstall Internet Explorer 7 to return to Internet Explorer 6 on Windows XP
Click "Start," and then click "Control Panel."
Click "Add or Remove Programs."
Check "Show Updates" at the top of the dialog box.
Scroll down the list and highlight the version of Internet Explorer 7 that you are running, and then click "Change/Remove."
Uninstall that, restart your PC and you are on IE6

Try downloading WIE 6.0 and install it . Maybe that way you can delete 7.0 and bring back good old 6.0. Or delete the entire WIE and install a different software. Such as mozilla firefox

verify you have not further any of the actual "upload ons" like Yahoo!Toolbar etc. additionally it particularly is mandatory to disable the anti-phishing filter out that examines each website for issues.
