It's thanksgiving , so why not address the idea that many have that anyone who does not accept Jesus is in hell.

If we think we know who is in hell and heaven, we are judging on earth, are creating enemies where there are none.

You are very arrogant to think that only people who accept Jesus blindly, are not in Hell.

There are many Christians, Muslims, Jews, Buddhists ... and other people who will go to Hell because of their dis-belief in the primary tenets of God's truthful existence.

As for the Native Americans, I'm sure they will have their fair judgment on the day of reckoning!

No, they are not, unfortunately Christianity was not the first religion so there is no way that some dudes were supposed to come across the ocean and tell the Natives that if they don't accept some guy named Jesus they will go to hell

I posted this in another question, but it's worth posting here:

Years ago, a Christian missionary went out to convert the Inuits in the remote reaches of present day northern Canada. This missionary met a wise old fisherman and told him the story of Jesus. He explained to the old Inuit that his soul could only be saved by accepting Christ as his personal savior.

The old Inuit pondered this for a moment and said to the missionary "My ancestors never heard of Jesus and did not know they needed to accept Him in order to be saved. Does this mean they went to this place you call Hell?"

The missionary replied, "No, God does not condemn those who are ignorant to His teachings."

The old Inuit then asked, "Would I have gone to hell if I had not met you and been taught about Jesus?"

The missionary told him he would not have gone to Hell either.

"Then," the old Inuit asked, "Why did you tell me?"

If they did not have the complete Faith in Jesus Christ I doubt that they are in Hell.

Anyway, we are to judge the actions of others and ourselves, not the intent or heart of the individuals.

Native Americans killed or those that murdered settlers are judged by God, not us.

Happy Thanksgiving, America!

We Native Americans had a better conception of our religion and all the natural cycle of life which man was given dominion over to rule and live in harmony with nature. You make hell what "YOU" want it to be, as for us, our ancestors are living in the spirit world in harmony with all life and the great creator of good. What makes your religion higher than mine..Your infatuation and fascination with your Jesus has brought the balance of all life to a brink of extinction. Why are you forcing and using military to push freedom on those whose way of life has existed for the last thousands of years even before the United States ever existed? As for me, here in ALASKA, I was never given a choice. I was born in 1955 when Alaska was a Russian/American Territory which later became a State in 1959...The Indians in the lower States also have their own beliefs and cultures that assures our ancestors to make it to the spirit world and live in Harmony with all life created by the great Spirit...

We're all equal in God's eye's (sinners) and we certainly are not the judges. Christ chastized the religious leaders of the time. It's a question we can't answer.
I can only read what He said, and have faith that He keeps his promises. One on one. God is not a church or a religion.
How he revealed himself to any nation shouldn't be tainted by pop culture.

There is no one who is righteous. We all need a Savior. That is why our compassionate founders made great efforts to lead the Native Americans to eternal life. In fact, on June 12, 1779, President Washington stated to the Delaware Indian Chiefs, “You do well to wish to learn our arts and ways of life, and above all, the religion of Jesus Christ…Congress will do everything they can to assist you in this wise intention.”

They are judged on another scale. How could someone be damned if they never heard the Gospel to reject it. Those that have a chance to hear and conform and reject it are the ones who are in trouble.

For people who never had an exposure to Christ or haven't even heard of Him, whether or not they go to heaven is decided by God by their actions in life.

What a fine site! (Have you considered linking to http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.com ?)

But to answer your question, according to current "Born-again Christian" dogma, they are in Hell, along with all the cancer babies who died before being 'saved, and along with the millions of kind, loving, giving Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists & atheists who led lives infinitely more worthy than that of Ted (who bought drugs but threw them away, and who paid a hooker for a back-rub)...

makes you wonder, don't it?
