-Surely you KNOW that animal species sometimes produce mutations?
-And common sense tells us that surely mutations (and even better genes) that are better suited to the environment will survive better? So then reproduce more? So eventually more of the mutated animal will exist than the unmutated animal? (I know this is a simplified version... but you understand this right??)
-And how, if not natural selection and 'survival of the fittest' do you explain the way that bacteria can become resistant to antibiotics? And that once it has, the bacteria spreads and survives better than the previous, unresistant bacteria? Which is why doctors don't prescribe antibiotics too much.
-And what about the peppered moth? Read more about it here (http://www.millerandlevine.com/km/evol/Moths/moths.html) if you haven't learnt about it in Biology.

How, with all this proof, can you say evolution did not happen?
It is self explanatory - give me a logical reason why a better-suited animal (to the enviornment) would not survive better than a worse-suited animal.
How can you argue against that??

TheSlayor - I said it was a simplified version. You cannot fit the entirety of evolutionary theory into one of these question spaces.
And every scientific discovery is a theory, really. Scientists accept that it is nigh impossible to prove most large-scale things, especially those which took place over millions of years. There are always many, many more hypotheses that could be true. But Science attempts to prove which ones are most likely.
And no one give me any of that 'you only believe, I KNOW' crap. No one, whatever their faith, can KNOW what happened at the dawn of time, especially not from a book written 2000yrs ago. I think evolution is a lot more likely than the theories most religions come up with.
I know Christians who believe in evolution, and I don't think they are at all contradicting their Christianity by this belief.

And, my God, don't try and use Paley's watchmaker model on me - it is obvious, if you come across a watch on a heath, that it is created, sure. It's obvious that the WATCH was created, if Paley's ideas actually proved anything, the man walking on the heath would also know that the heath was made by someone - but he DOESNT. You notice the watch is created, because it is DIFFERENT to the natural world around it.

'mibandi...' - how CAN I believe in creation? Since the only proof is in books, old books at that. Why do you believe that any more than you believe Hindu scripture? They both come from old books, and I bet there is some 'proof' of their religion also.
(sorry to all the Hindus I've just insulted)

There is a difference between evolution and mutation! Mutation simply implies that a species changes to fit there surroundings. Evolution says that one species changes into a different species! The peppered moth did not change species, it just changed to fit the surroundings to blend in with the polluted trees. Going from a monkey to a human is changing species, not mutating! If you believe that mutating is changing species then you have been watching to much sci-fi. Viruses mutate to resist antibiotics, yes, but they aren't changing species. Christians do not believe in evolution because it is nothing more than a theory, there is not proof behind it. Many of Darwin's and other scientist supposed "pictures" of things supporting evolution were faked. For example, fetuses. A human fetus was compared to other fetus' to show the similarities, but the drawings were exaggerated and faked.

Because they are intelligent well informed and not that gullible people with out knowledge of the facts are being conned into thinking evolution is a fact it is only an unproven theory with no facts to support it and has a track record of resorting to fraud and deception to give it an appearance of credibility but those who orchestrated those frauds and hoaxes have ben disbarred and censured for their criminal acts evolution has been disproven in so many ways that a screen has less holes thats why also we have it from the highest source possible the creator of everything God himself cant do any better than that Gorbalizer

Friend, I have many times as a Christian said there is a certain point of evolution, such as a tappole turning into a frog, & maggots, into a fly & so on, But don't think you are tricking me with your question, no way, You state your question & then you turn around & answer your own question by saying RIGHT. No you are not right, Because the whole theory of evolution is that man came from a sliming pond somewhere out in the jungle or we evolved from Monkeys or apes. So the whole THEROY & a Theory is something you presume but don't really know, I don't presume. I know. that evolutionists ideals of evolution is not right. Yes you try to use one or 2 things that I just mentioned to you & you try to build a whole concept around everything evolved. Well, you just got a hold of a Christian that has been serving God over 36 yrs. I am not dumb. Any questions, anyone wants to put out there concerning scriptures I am willing to answer, if it is not a stupid question, them I will leave it with the head it came from.

I really suggest that you understand evolution a little better before criticizing people because they have evaluated it against the evidence.
Are you aware of the difference between micro- and macro-evolutionary theory? If so, then your question is intentially misleading. If not, then perhaps to learn the difference.
Are you advocating gradual evolutionary theory or a punctuated version? Are you aware of the difference? Are you aware of the evidence and how it forced evolutionary biologist's to modify their theory? Are you aware that evolutionary biologists strongly disagree among themselves as to what the theory of evolution is, when it occurs and what the fossil record reflects?
No?
Ok, but since you are on a roll, explain the process of evolution. And no, your question isn't a description of the process, but rather a description of your evidence. A process description would include the cause and effect, triggers, etc.
And for the bonus question, how did non-living matter evolve into life? By definition, if something is non-living, then it is not breeding and there can be no subsequent generations for improvement. When you can explain that first instance of evolution of life to non-life, then we'll have a real debate.
I suggest you learn a bit more about metaphysics before wading out in the deep end...

Christians believe in evolution. Catholics and Jewish people accepted Darwin's theories with no conflicts to the Bible.
It's RANDOMISM that is the controversey.
Randomism, if I may be a facitious extremist, is buying a bunch of electronic parts at Radio Shack, putting them into a box, giving them to Monkeys and having them shake them for 1 billion years.
Radominsts say you will get a fully functioning X Box if you do that long enough.
That is the concept that is hard to swallow!
We have a hard time understanding how ANYONE can accept that we are here due to serendipity!
Even Einstein didn't agree with that concept! He said "God doesn't play craps!"

Because in the Beginning God created the heaves and the earth and everything in it. If we came crawling up out of the stagnated water and became man, then why are women going thru the painful labors of child birth, why not go down to the swamp and pick Junior up there?

How can you not believe in the truth of Creation? Not only is it truth but it makes more sense than evolution. GOD makes WAY more sense- not to mention He is seen through His creation.

The evidence is really overwhelming which is why it seems incredible to see creationists so glibly dismiss it. Only as a result of ignorance or sheer bigotry will anyone reject the idea of biological evolution-it is as proven as anything in science ever can be. Also creationists can't get away with conceding that animals adapt to their environment because that is evolution-it is only defined as genetic change in any given species over time. Eons of micro-evolution in any species amounts to macro-evolution.
