We just came back from a 4d/3n vacation in Jenner, CA.
Upon arriving at the vacation rental home, we were shocked to learnt that 6 cats live in the property (without prior disclosure). After having the cleaner come and re-changed all our bedsheet out due to excess traces of cat hair and dirt (or possibly dots of ticks), we finally decide to settle in to save trouble even though some of us are allergic to cat. The next morning, we realized a very small red dot perfectly flat on my baby forehead, we tried to softly remove it but failed, so we thought it was a small scratch caused by her own fingernail. As days passes, my wife noticed that tht dot was growing a little in size, but being city boy n girl we were ignorant to suspect otherwise. It wasn't until this morning, 6 days later, that we saw legs on the enlarged blood sucking creature sitting up, immediately we removed it and become very concern of possible parasite infection. Can anyone please tell us what we should do?

Get the child to a doctor IMMEDIATELY to be tested for Lyme Disease. There are many kinds of tics, but you don't want to take any chances and this is something that can affect not only her physical health but also her/his mental health in years to come. Please do not wait. It is better to be safe than sorry.

There are also other things this could have been (bedbug, for example) so don't panic but do have the baby tested.

Take baby to the doctor for a blood test. When you remove a tick the head stays inside. Get a lawyer and sue the poop out of the landlord that lets people sleep in an infested house without disclosure.

You all could have Lyme disease or worse.

You need to take the baby to the doctor IMMEDIATELY.

Ticks spread Lyme disease, something you cannot treat yourself.

When you pull off a tick, the head stays in the skin.

Please do not fool around with this.

Use pesticide w/ boric acid to get rid of the fleas...you can fog the house as well and get flea and tick collars for the animals...it's my estimation that animals belong outside...not in human living quarters...call me cynical but thats my opinion...I work as a building maintenance engineer and the irrepairable damage I've seen animals cause has climbed to the thousands in one building alone...

It sounds like a tick. You should definitley bring that small child to a hospital and have him/her checked out ASAP. Things that would pass through an adult's system can severely harm a child.

see a doctor . it is your fault to take your kid to a place where she is exposed to all this. but gone is gone . now your concern is to see that this paracite does not enter her blood stream. keep all clothes you took for the vacation out . wash her well and put on clean cloaths for he and all your family consult a doc . while i was working in poor undeveloped communities tics / formites could kill young children by releasing toxins that harm the brain and we are unaffected by it . it is really urgent now to clean up your house and your selves . best of luck

Your daughter needs to see a doctor. Take the remains of the tick to the doctor so it can be tested for disease.
