do they sun dry it or bake the kernels?

The above answer the second question. I will answer the first. How I get it ready. I use peanut oil and add enough to the pan to cover the bottom and turn heat on high. When the oil begin to smoke I add one kernel until it pop and then add enough to cover the bottom without overcrowding and put on the lid/cover. When it start to pop I keep shaking until the popping slow down and pour into a bowl. Most kernels pop and add a little salt. The peanut oil make it taste good. OR, melt some real butter to pour over it, mixing well and add a little salt. If, you can get coconut oil it even better. Coconut oil has the highest fat content of any oil, including Butter. Fat what make things taste excellent.

It is ready to pop when it is sold. The air from the heat hits the moisture inside the kernel and makes it expand.

The kernels are dried every so slighly in the sun or under a heat lamp.
