Your list of fears is : dentists... people.. boats..being sick..being a loner..and thus embarrassment in front of people!
Why those particular things?
Dentist, I can understand, that's a natural fear to some.
Being a loner, seems to be the "key"..in your question.
Your suffering from "high anxiety" issues. There is more behind this than the "list".. it's coming from somewhere.
Something in your life past/present is causing this and you have to figure out what it is.
Try telling yourself that ... I refuse to allow myself to be fearful.
It's a choice, but you will have to fight hard to overcome it..
You do need counselling..but you say no..so the best thing is to work on "why" and "choosing not to be fearful"
good luck and take care of yourself.
edit: Don't want counsellor to know who you are... that's why you're in such a mess, your trying to cover up what is going on with you.. Don't do that.. talk it out..please!

You sound just like my son who has been to many doctors over the years and had many opinions, but the person who has helped him the most is him self because he doesn't give up, and he is always trying to find out why he is feeling the way he is and how to fix it. He has tried many medications in the past, but he is currently only taking klonopin, which helps with anxiety, though very addictive.
I wish you could muster up the courage to see even your general doctor, he/she could recommend someone. You don't have to pour out your heart just give a general description of how you feel, or print your on line text of problems and hand it to them. I do that for my kids. In the mean time get some Vitamin B complex as it helps reduce stress, a food that is a very good source is a banana. Also, are you drinking enough water? Getting enough calcium, and enough protein. Poor nutrition can even be the cause of a lot of these types of problems, so be sure you do research on stress, and or anxiety versus proper nutrition and then follow some of the advice. I hope you figure it out soon. Hugs.

Maybe a different approach to counselling. There are different ways. The most important is to get the help you need. I understand your feeling as when it was first suggested to me I freaked andafter a while I agreed to try it but was very nervous for the same reasons as you, but it really does help. You will learn to trust the person helping you. It is true that its important to feel at ease with them. i left my first one. it won't be comfortable until you get used to it but you need to take a great leap of trust to give yourself a chance of getting over your fears. Best of luck. Try another counsellor or a psychologist who can help through art work - that way you wont have to talk about yourself so much.

I know you said you don't want counselling, but I used to suffer terribly from a phobia and I went to see a hypnotherapist to deal with my phobia and anxiety.
Unlike people's common perception hypnotherapy is not about you going into a trance and telling people your secrets. The type of hypnotherapy I had involved me being put into a state of deep relaxation and being talked to by the hypnotherapist. I went into it very doubtful, but I have to say it has really changed things for me. My anxiety levels are much lower and my phobia has all but gone. My hypnotherapist also taught me tools to deal with my anxiety such as breathing exercises (subtle ones... no one can tell!) and repeating words to myself (in my head...no mad mutterings out loud!) that calm me down.
The first time that i went I could take someone with me and all my sessions were recorded so I have tapes to listen to if I ever need to.
If you decide to look into this I would suggest going by one of the regulatory associations that can be found in the phone book or on the Internet, rather than just randomly picking one out of the phone book or something.
I hope that you get your anxiety issues under control.

Hi Joy. You are describing symptoms of what is medically called an 'Affective Disorder'. Affective disorders included panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive disorders, major depression, bi-polar depression, etc.
These groups of disorders (like any disorder in the body) are caused by dysfunction of the involved organ - in this case, the brain. The most common causes of brain dsyfunction are poor diet, environmental intolerances and toxicities (e.g. heavy metals like mercury and lead). 'Treatment' of any health problem (including the brain) should focus on identifying and correcting the cause whenever it is possible to do so.

self confidence,realize ur weaknesses,did you have any bad experiences or somebody tried to make u feel like you dont belong.make friends and do whatever makes you happy.tell yourself you beautiful and no one is like you,ther' so many pple who care about you out there, realize and appreciate that.write down whatever u feel isnt right with u,could be your body or whatever,somethin u not comfortable with.sickness is part of being alive cant run away just eat the right foodstuff.being lonely is something else,maybe you dont open up to people..wot do u think...

Try some type of meditation like yoga or Tai Chi, it may help you focus on calming your mind and body and you don't have to do it with anyone, or you can also try running or long walks, which also help clear the mind and don't cost anything
