Okay, to practice our Spanish, in my extra Spanish classes I have been told to find a recipe for something and demonstrate it.

It doesn't have to be Spanish - it can be any type of food - all I need to do is find a nice simple recipe with not too many ingredients, and then I can translate it into spanish to present to the class.

I have to make it myself in front of the class and it there won't be an oven available (but we will be able to store things in a fridge)

So, it has to be:

1)Quite quick
2) Simple - not too many ingredients
3) Made without using an oven
4) Not too dull, nothing like "cheese on toast" or "jam sandwich"
5) Quite cheap, I don't want to spend loads on a piece of Spanish homework!

Ground beef with mushrooms (rice side dish)
1lb ground beef
one pkg sliced mushrooms
one large yellow onion
garlic powder
paprika
s/p
1 cup rice. (that's all the ingredients!)

chop up all the onion and saute.
get 2 cups water ready for rice and add half of the sauteed onions to it. Add bullion or just salt for added taste.

Add mushrooms to skillet of onions and resaute.
Add the ground beef to skillet of onion/mushrooms and cook until all loose and cooked.
add sprinkle of garlic powder, and paprika and salt/pepper. And sometime I add a tiny sprinkle of italian seasoning (like the kind you sprinking on pizzas)
stir meat mixture until rice is done and serve with the rice. (I grew up with this recipe)
-(And when I was making it, my BIL, a chef, took over and added a splash of white wine to the meat mixture and also1jar spegetti sauce (I use Prego) and it was devine!)
Very simple. No oven, and not many ingredients and not a PB&J, and not expensive. And makes great leftovers.
Buena suerte!

One typical latin american finger food is avocado spread (guacamole) on bread.

Here's how to do it:
1) Get avocado from supermart. Avocado can be of any type (black or green, it doesn't matter).
2) Peel off the skin and cut it in two.
3) Remove the seed.
4) Smash avocado in a plate or bowl with the back of a fork till it becomes a paste.
5) Add some fresh cooking oil and white sugar into paste and mix together.
6) Guacamole best done on the spot or not too long beforhand so that it will not turn black.

You will get a typical nice, fresh, green guacamole. Most people likes it :)
Note: No. of avocado depends on no. of servings.

Hope that helps. Jonathan Koh

Chocolate mousse! Always a favourite, and the traditional French recipe (in my opinion the best type) is surprisingly simple to make, with the most delicious results:

Chocolate Mousse (traditional French style)

350g (12 oz) good quality dark chocolate *preferably at least 70% cocoa solids.
6 eggs, separated
30 ml (2 tablespoons) of the liqueur of your choice (cointreau, kirsch or baileys work well!

1. Melt the chocolate in a bain marie (a pan of gently simmering water, with a glass bowl on top - make sure it fits well, as you don't want any steam to get into your chocolate - it makes it go hard and split).
2. Remove from heat, and beat in the yolks and then the liqueur, until it's at a smooth consistency.
3. In another bowl, whip the egg whites, until they're stiff, and gently fold spoonfuls into the chocolate mixture. You can be quite vigourous in mixing in the first couple of spoonfuls, but after that, be careful and very gentle, as too much mixing will knock the air out of the egg whites.
4. Pour into separate bowls, or 1 big serving dish, and refrigerate for 2-5 hours, by which time it should have set. You can decorate with whipped cream and flaked chocolate if desired, or just serve as is, or with langue de chat biscuits (cookies if you're American).

As you need to demonstrate it, you could either just show them how to make it up to the point of refrigeration (telling them to refrigerate for 2-5 hours), or have one ready-made and fully refrigerated to show them the results. Whatever you decide though, best of luck, and enjoy!!

a pair of questions...what form of sophistication is it? what proportion would be there (prefer an thought of ways plenty you will might desire to serve)? are you able to hold in nutrition that's prepped (pre-shrink, and so on) and then only carry mutually it there. additionally any catagory you prefer.....Hors D'oeuvres, snacks, dessert, and so on? Given a 5 min window, i won't be able to see you having the time to do maximum issues already indexed right here. They looked as though it would the two prefer warmth and/or way greater desirable than 5 min. without solutions to my questions, right this is an hassle-free suggestion or 2. in case you may submit the solutions i might have some greater effective recommendations. Ham/Boursin Rolls; that's an previous social gathering classic. Have the deli slice ham extremely thick (for deli use). unfold with Boursin cheese. Roll. At living house you will possibly then pop contained in the freezer for a jiffy to make reducing less difficult. Then shrink the roll at a diagonal, so it feels like a pinwheel. Serve with crackers. This includes recommendations as they whip up incredibly rapid, are tasty and serve actual. Fruit kabobs; Get plastic skewers (like toothpicks basically a tiny drop longer). Have multiple end result, clean or canned, consisting of pineapple chunks, pitted or marischino cherries, banana slices, in line with threat grapes, or regardless of. Skewer them, alternating them, if no longer moist dip in syrup from a can if used, and roll in coconut. Serve on my own or shrink up products of pound cake. My first techniques could be to serve each and each bit with a skewer or 2 piercing it as a base. or you will possibly desire to upload as a factor on the skewer. One final thought. are you able to end off something. as an occasion carry in baked cupcakes you made at living house, and practice diverse approaches to frost/beautify. that could be hassle-free in 5 min. one way could be to fill a zipper lock bag w/frosting. in school shrink off nook and push out. you have got a swirl that seems sort of like a Dairy Queen cone. then you definately might desire to dip others in melted chocolate. Then there is the hassle-free can of whipped cream, and desirable with sprinkles or some extraordinarily candy topping or only undeniable goodies like small M & M's.
