If you are using " o " (oh) to get the operator it won't work. Dial " 0 " (zero), not " o " for the operator and " 0-0 " ( double zero will also get an overseas operator in some countries), if your long distance operator is not the same provider as your local carrier.

Like Dusty said, dial 0 (zero) at the bottom of your phone keypad.
