My wife thought at first that it was just a zit, but I am sure that is not the case because zits dont fill up with clear fluid like the blister my baby has. Could it be a plantar wart starting? How can that possibly be treated? Is it dangerous? I will of course go to the doctor. The reason I am asking here is in case anyone else has had experience with such blisters on a baby on the foot sole.

when the herpes virus hits first it comes along with fever/pain. that's so sad, poor baby, yes have your doctor look in to it. hopefully it's nothing like that.

It could be but it is impossible to tell from your description alone... You should watch her temperature and make sure it doesn't spread! DO NOT use corticosteroids (cortisone or the like) on an infant!!! That is a really bad idea!

Keep it covered and watch it and take the baby to the doctor as soon as you can!

Babies love to rub their feet together... it could just be a friction blister? Don't panic!

Well you could just lance it!

I dont know if I spelled that correctly but take a little pin and pop the blister to drain the fluid. I dont think that a blister would cause that much harm. But, Im not a doctor.

First off relax about the germs! As long as everyone washes their hands, doesn't have obvious cold/flu and refrains from kissing baby on the hands or mouth even a "germ factory" 3 yr old can visit. The six month old won't even have contact with the 1 week old anyhow. No one would expect a 6 month old to be able to be gentle. My 3 yr old son handled his newborn sister at a day old and she never got sick from him. The only cold she has caught was the one I had! Baby will be more at risk of catching something from anyone handling her before washing their hands.

If it is clear fluid, it is just a blister. If it is murky or white, see a doctor. That means it is viral.

Its probably a sebacous cyst. Its just an infected pore. The fluid can be drained or left alone and it will disappear.
