My mom wants me to go shopping with her at this one outlet mall at midnight because everything is 50%-60% off. I don't usually stay up so what are some foods/drinks that will help me stay up and what foods should I avoid. a.s.a.p.

Stay away from processed sugar and take the following, Apple Pectin. You can find it in most larger vitamin stores. You take it before any meal of snack of any size and the food travels through the digestive system much more slowly. This keeps your energy level at more of an even level and you don't get the same energy highs and lows. Another suppliment you can look for in the vitamin store is the amino acid lysine. It comes in a bottle with the labeled L-Lysine. This amino acid causes food to be used in a way that gives you more energy. And guess what, both decrease cholesterol levels ( a little ). But do consult your doctor in all health matters, I'm not a doctor.

Don't do coffee...it might give you too strong of 'jitters'. Food ideas ? Some of these are not healthy but now and then are fine...Pepsi / coke, Gin-sing tea (spelling ?), peppermint candy, stay away from heavier meats closer to time of going out shopping, meat can at times make you feel sluggish. Also, maybe take a 30 to 45 minute cat-nap before going out and just the thought of you and your mom doing some fun odd thing such as shopping at midnight is an offbeat fun experience. Just getting your mind set into that, shop, laugh, eat some 'bad' mall food at mid-nite...spark your mind into the thought of sharing this moment of memory with your mom, that should 'awaken' you a bit...you can always sleep later when you return. Moments as this are odd but fun and memorable.

If you want to stay up late i would suggest you eat things like carrots, celery, apples, oranges, and any other healthy thing. if you eat these your body can consintrate on not going to sleep instead of burining off calories. Also you should eat a couple of cookies, cake, or since it is thanksgiving some pie!!! just enough to get you a littlea hiper, though. If you eat to much sugar you will fell slugish and fall asleep easily. well, good luck and enjoy the shopping time!!! make sure to hit the sale racks!!!

Hmmm...maybe you should have a cookie or two and have a little dessert for thanksgiving dinner. But healthy snacks like Angel food cake, oatmeal raisen cookies, ect. Also, avoid coffee and pop.

the best thing to do is get some sleep early enough so you wont be tired later. The foods to stay away from is soda, syrup, anything that has sugar in it.
Depends on your age, i think coffee is a good eye opener..............good luck
keep me posted.

You could try caffeine or sugar but expect to crash soon afterward.

Which might be a good idea considering? You might want to go right to sleep after shopping that late?
