From what I read somewhere else on this site. Us and apes are the only two animals to suffer an enzyme deficiency meaning we cant create vitamin C. Is that true?
Do you take this to be proof of evolution (common ancestor) or is it some huge coincidence that its just us and apes?

Uncle Thesis, trust me a lot of mammals can have snot dribbling down them, my dog is proof of that, I was led to believe it was just us and apes (and now apparently guinea pigs... at least I never claimed to know this was true), not us and a load of other mammals!

Well, I know that my guinea pig doesn't either. If I don't give him Vitamin C, he'll die.

Still, look at the video I provided on that last Q. This is solid evidence of evolution in humans from a scientist that though he is Catholic, argued against the teaching of intelligent design in court.

Evolution is supported by the evidence.

The theory of Evolution is misunderstood a great deal of the time, and if people took the time to read biology textbooks and other works of science, they would see that the facts are overwhelming, but since this requires study you will not be able to convince any one on a question board to change his or her mind. There is not enough space nor time here.

This fact alone does not prove evolution, but if you toss it on top of the mountain of evidence it helps to make a strong case.

Guinea Pigs cannot generate vitamin C either and need daily supplements. Is this proof that my pet Guinea Pig evolved from apes?

no, even if there is a little evidence about us and apes to be basically the same, i still don't believe in evolution. there's not enough evidence for me to believe just like there's isn't evidence that god's real

have a nice day

I am a very strong Catholic, and I believe in evolution.
I happen to believe that God used this process to evolve us into what we are today. When God created us, He made us in His image...that is, having an intellect and soul. THAT, above anything else, is what separates us from beasts.

I see it as one of the many pieces of evidence that evolution is true

well very interesting.........but I think I have all the evidence I need that evolution is real.It can be seen in our lifetime in insects with short lifespans such as moths and crickets

It proves nothing.
In fact its not a HUGE coincidance.
Both apes and man can have snot drooling down their nose.
What does that prove?

I'd like to disagree. I could create vitamin C if I wanted to.

Wait for it...orange juice, juicy-juices, refreshing citrus...got it.

Man produces iron, copper, magnezium, and zinc too... these are all found in the ground... does this mean we were made from dust from the ground? ;)
