There is no water, there is no air (in Japan poeple start to buy oxygen because its all contaminated, they enter in a oxygen store and buy oxygen for a while). The destruction of habitable land, temperature fluctuations (look what just happened in New Orleans)

Prevent alarmist talk and make ecowarriors sit down and talk sense.
The air in Japan is just as breathable as anywhere else in the world. Natural disasters happen regularly and will continue to do so because the Earth is a living planet. The land around New Orleans for example is much richer and more productive for the experience. Not nice for the natives but good for the planet!
We banned CFC gasses from fridges and AC. Good? - Well sadly one of the gases now being used is actually 10 times more polluting!!!
So I would settle for making everyone look at the whole story, the effects of any action proposed and it's possible negative side effects, so that we get honest debate instead of invective!!!!

I would order every human to plant a tree (native to their location), or two. I would place a ban on the harvesting of carbon-based (fossil) fuels, and replace them with cleaner burning, non-carbon-releasing fuels (canola, ethanol, etc). And this last one will raise alot of defiance, but I would indiscriminantly reduce the human population to a level that's consistent with the earth's carrying capacity.

I would turn all the landfill deposit and waste and liter into healthy fuel that will not pollute the air to run our cars.
