The theory of evolution wants me as an intelligent man to believe my roots started as an ape. So why is it that I can still see apes today when I go visit the zoo? Isn't the idea behind evolution that one things changes into another? If so, then maybe there shouldn't be any apes or monkeys today, because they are all shaving and wearing clothes?

Rich C good question, after ready many answers they all forgot Genesis 1:24 And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind." And it was so. 25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. Some may read this and say what's the point, the point is that God created every living thing according to their own kind, in Latin it says according to their own gene.

Those apes left behind as ape, not evolved into ape-man, may be because they lacked a scientific mind that thought evolution was possible from ape to ape-man.

Y'know, no thought, no act or monkey thought, monkey act.

By the way, is ape-man the final process or more to come?

Why don't I see something between man and ape, still in process of evolution?

Did all the monkey got together and voted to become man all at the same time without a fail, except those voted 'no' to be evolved into ape-man?

It seems a miracle that all who wanted to become ape-man made 100% success!
You don't see any 10, 20, 30 or 50% ape-man anywhere on earth.
Maybe there was a huge clean up to get rid of all that was not up to 100% ape-man like Hitler did?

And, those miracle ape-man fails so many times to clone animal out of animal.
Why don't they try to evolve those animals into other kind of species randomly and naturally?

How about all ape-men get together to agree to be evolved into something different so as not to be in need of plastic surgery or makeup to look as a super ape?

I sure can use one because I am ugly and have skin that is not super.

When will they have such a conference?

Why so many are born but none is evoluted something different from being human species?

I don't think any ape-man has an answer to that.

Not again....

Tell me... if evolution applies to mankind, don't you think it applies to other things as well? Religion is the only thing that claims mankind is special and that everything revolves around man. Science doesn't make that claim.

Evolution also doesn't say that we came from apes (though at least thats closer to the answer than monkeys). It says that we came from a common ancestor.

That's such a basic concept to the evolution, do they not teach that in school? Seriously, are the schools really that lacking that you don't have an understanding of the most basic fundamentals of science?

When I was in school, we learned not only that but also the basics of genetics, chemistry, earth systems (like sediment depositing on sea beds), the movement of the earths crust, mathematics, etc.

You don't need to know that much about any of them.

Do you know that molecules are made up of atoms are made up of positive, neutral, and negative electrons and how those transfer between them and even change charge? Do you understand the electrical makeup of water? You do know there's a reason why water is called H2O right? Because it's made up of two hydrogen atoms, and one oxygen atom. And that they, in turn, are made up of electrical charges (positive, negative, and neutral). And here's something that apparently will surprise you... all living things are made up of mostly water, including you and I.

Do you know about the biospheres of the earth?

Heck, if I were to say to you that x=12000, y=5000, so what is z... do you know how to find the answer? Because that's basic algebra.

Do you understand how evolution actually works? That it says that we all (every living thing) evolved from a common ancestor? And that the ancestor wasn't a complex (many celled) organism but probably a single celled organism (no, no one knows what it looks like. Life has been on this planet for approximately 4 BILLION years and our technology isn't advanced enough to know what the first life form looked like)? Do you understand that Apes, Humans, and all monkeys evolved from a common ancestor?

By the gods, I feel like I have to teach every Christian on here basic science so that they'll understand something incredibly basically fundamental to life. I learned all this stuff in junior and high school. If you're teachers aren't teaching you how evolution actually works, they should all be fired.

You call yourself an inteligent man... so prove it and become educated on what evolution really says.

Congratulations. You are the sixth person to ask that question this week. Read the old answers. If you had, you would have learned that humans and the other modern apes are descendants of ancient proto-apes. Evolution is not a directed process.

The theory of evolution doesn't say that apes turned into man. It is a common ancestor that we have in common with the apes. Your analogy is similar to saying that you and your first cousins aren't related, because then both of you couldn't exist.

I'm glad that you are thinking about the question, though. Sooner or later your intelligence will show you the truth about evolution

The key concept to understand is environmental pressures because that is what triggers adaptation and evolutionary change in any species. Mankind was subject to unique evolutionary pressures in his environment hence he evolved in a unique way from other primates. Having intelligence and being the alpha predator he himself had the power to shape his environment to the detriment of other species. Other primates have adapted and evolved to fit into a niche in their habitats-they have no environmental pressures acting on them at present to stimulate any further evolutionary change. When one takes the time to study the available evidence it is clear that evolution is an indisputable fact that remains unchallenged by any amount of creationist rhetoric and red herrings.

You discredit your own argument by claiming ot be "an intelligent man" and then misrepresenting evolution of humanity as coming from apes.

Both humans and apes evolved from common ancestry, but these were not apes as we know them.

Think of it like this: Most people of Appalachia are desendants of Irish and Scots (primarily), but not the Irish and Scots of today - the Irish and Scots of centuries ago (the common ancestors). There are still Irish and Scots in Ireland and Scotland, but they, too, have changed culturally in the intervening centuries, and changed differenly than their Appalachian distant cousins.

Please read a little bit about evolution before jumping to conclusions. I highly recommend the sites that I have included below. As others have said, we did not descend from apes, we do, however share common ancestors.

The third link is actually from a Christian site that recommends that creationists not even use the Man vs. Ape "argument".

Watch this... a video from a Christian scientist that argued in court against the teaching of intelligent design.

We did not evolve FROM apes. Both apes and humans evolved from a common ancestor.

Your roots didn't start as an ape. If you knew anything about evolution at all, you would know that according to the theory, life started in the form of unicellular organisms. Please, do research. You might be surprised at what you find.
