Where the hell was i when we went back to Vietnam?!?!?!
Trying to compare the Vietnam war to OIF is outrageously stupid. We went to into Vietnam because the french treated the Vietnamese like crap. As soon as we showed up the french jumped ship and left us high and dry then protested us being there. We got out of Vietnam war in 73. 75 is when Saigon fell. big difference, anyways i digress. OIF happenede ecause saddam had al-queada training camps there. had his son uday purchase chemical weapons from the french and dutch. which he later used on the kurds. to assume that the vietnam war and OIF are the same is just retarded. Sam the communists stoped there take over of asia in vietnam. Research a thing called the domino effect.

Did you fight in Vietnam? were you even alive during the Vietnam war?
If not just what are you using to base your opinion on that there is a Vietnam2 going on.

We are not involved in anything that comes close to what we as a nation suffered through for ten years back in the 60's and finally ending in 75.
Yes we are involved in a war that is going to go longer then most of you are willing to accept.
It is nothing close to a conventional or jungle war. It's a war against non uniformed combatants. who are not fighting for a country but for a distorted religious belief.
its slow going because unlike them being able to pick our uniformed soldiers out of a crowd. we have to wait until the guy in street clothes starts shooting before we can respond.
or risk killing a bunch of non combatants.
It's nothing like Vietnam and I'm afraid its going to go on a hell of a lot longer then the Vietnam war did

it will happen, like Vietnam 1, when the Amerian people grow completly fed up with it and realize the war in Iraq has NOTHING to do with our personal security. They used to scare the public about Vietnam: if the communists won the world would come to an end. They are using the same scare tactics about Iraq.

When did a Vietnam2 start? Just because a bunch of know nothing people try to correlate Iraq with Vietnam, it doesn't mean it is so. Learn the differences and you will save yourself from this incorrect train of thinking.
