I am 17, can i fly to afghanistan without my parents purchasing tickets for me?

i want to make a documentary on the war in afghanistan. i need tickets there first

I guess you know you're gonna hear a lot of "BAD IDEA" right? In answer to your question, no, I do not believe you can purchase airline tickets if you are under the age of 18. Don't get me wrong, your idea is a very noble and courageous idea but you'll get yourself killed. Literally.

You dont have to have your parents buy your ticket. Passengers age 15 and over are considered adults and do not need adult supervision. I do not recommend paying cash for an International ticket for one and two to a place like Afghanistan. Paying cash especially to a middle eastern country will get you additional screening. At 17, you dont need your parents permission. You only need your passport. I highly suggest purchasing on a credit card. Main reason is something happens to that airline you wont lose your money. Secondly, paying cash sends all kinds of security red flags no matter who you are.

u should b elligible 4 that which means that u should have a passport,but do inform ur parents and tell them that u r going 4 a gud purpose.but do remember that afghanis r very agressive people,so take care of urself

I don't see how you could. I'm sure you'd need your parents help with the trip because you need passports, immunizations, birth certificate, etc. Even if you could finance the trip yourself, you'd still need your parents to obtain most of the above for your trip. Are they against the trip, or have you not talked to them about it?
