It is according to what type of infection your pet has.You can try the Gentimicin 1/2 cc per 3 lbs,2 x daily, this is an injection that can be given in the muscle or at nape of neck under the skin.It can be purchased at any local feed store and is the same as penicillin. If this doesn't help you should see your vet.

Same way as you fight them in yourself. Good diet, exercise, fun and sleep. It helps too if your dog has its vaccinations up to date, for all the lethal infections. Boosters are due annually. Regular worming and stuff for fleas, ticks and mites. Be aware of what your dog is doing off lead too. The only time my older dog has been sick in his life was when he found some rotten meat that was discarded in a wood. He projectile vomited for a day. Not nice.

Antibiotics fight infection, but they don't affect whatever weakened the immune system in the first place.
Your best bet is to consult a veterinarian, to find out the type of infection, and cause behind it. They will give you the proper treatment to treat and/or prevent infections.

depending on what it's for u have to go to the vet to get meds, but if it's exturnal (can't spell today, sorry) you can put peroxide on the small cut scrape or rubbing alcohol (be careful about that though cuz it'll burn like a *****).

Make sure the dog doesn't lick, scratch, or bite it,
Good luck

1. Take him to your vet for regular check-ups and vaccinations.
2. Give him preventative medicines for other types of problems, such as heart worm, fleas, tape worm (which comes along with fleas).
3. Feed him a good dog food to keep up his immune system.
