An energy field surrounding the bodies of living things created by both spiritual energy and energy generated by the body's natural biochemical processes. It has no effect in and of itself (although you could argue that a strong aura helps protect from diseases) and is most often used by healers as an indicator to illnesses. A strong well balanced aura indicates good health, patchy or weak auras point to health problems in that area of the body. The aura is also linked to the chakras and can be strengthened by balancing the energy in th chakras.

Aura refers to the energy field emanating from the surface of a person or object. This emanation is visualized as an outline of cascading color and may be held to represent soul vibrations, chakric emergence, or a reflection of surrounding energy fields.

I think it is like an energy field around humans and maybe other things as well; everyone can obtain the ability to see them; some have it naturally while others have to acquire it
