Japanese cars are better. But don't take my word for it:

http://money.cnn.com/2004/11/08/pf/autos/cr_auto_reliability/

This article states the following:

"Of the 32 car models with the highest reliability ratings, 29 were from Japan-based manufacturers. Toyota, with 16, and Honda, with 7, had the most vehicles with top reliability ratings. South Korean automaker Hyundai's Sonata earned a top spot in the ratings this year, a first for that manufacturer. "

You can no longer qualify American cars as having more horsepower, or Japanese cars as being quieter. Look at the Nissan Altima vs. the Ford Fusion. The Altima has more horsepower and the Fusion is quieter. Or take a look at the CTS vs. the Acura TL. The Acura has more horsepower. In fact, saying American cars are this, and Japanese cars are that is no longer relevant. For goodness sake, the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, BMW X5, Mercedes Benz ML and Nissan Maxima (amongst others) are made in the US. Many of these were designed in design studios in California. Base your decision on which car is better for you, not on the location of the manufacturers mailbox!

Better, by far, to get a Japanese car. I tried to buy American cars for years and had nothing but trouble especially with GM and Chrysler cars. Then I broke down and got a Toyota truck and it was fantastic. Since then: Japanese cars for me

American companies seem incapable to make a dependable car that is easy to repair.

Well, if you live in America, it's better to buy an American car. Most people on here will tell you to buy Japanese. I still like to support the country I live and work in.

I'm embarrassed to say the *** cars are better.
Bottom Line: Less repairs, More resale value, Last longer.
