I AGREE WITH EXERCISE, AN INCREASE IN ACTIVITY WOULD MAKE A DIFFERENCE. ALSO YOU CAN TRY PORTION CONTROL, DECREASE THE SIZE OF THE SERVINGS SHE'S CONSUMING, SHE SHOULD FEEL SATISFIED AT THE END OF EACH MEAL, NOT STUFFED.

High protein, low sugar, make sure all the vitamins are present, make sure she's eating 1200 calories or more a day, lots of water, no diet cokes, and lots of healthy exercise.
White meat turkey and low fat tofu are great. So are white fishes and lean chicken and beef. (not cheeseburgers, lean beef!!)
Too few calories will slow her metabolism and end up making her fatter as she hits puberty. She'll also feel cold and faint all the time which is unpleasant.
Please encourage her to do her program with friends, this will prevent her from going overboard and will offer good support along the way.

The problem with most cereals and fruits is that they're loaded with sugar. Cereal is loaded with refined sugars, and fruits are loaded with natural sugars. Refined sugar is harder to break down, and built fat. Natural sugars aren't so harmful. Try to cut sugar from her diet. Splenda is the new "non-sugar" rave, use it to sweaten tea's, or anything she puts sugar in. Sugar is the main culprit in weight gain for kids, not to mention cavities. For breakfasts, substitute cereals for eggs, scrambled, however she likes them. Eggs are a good source of protien and a great jump start for the brain in the morning. Toast, Bagels are low in sugar, if she likes a topping, she can use cream cheese (low fat) or Jelly, a small amount, or a light butter coating. Exercise is key. Have her start a walking regimin. Thirty minutes a day, if it's possible. The cardio will put oxygen in her blood and help raise her metabolism. As far as sandwiches, try using turkey or chicken for lunchmeats. Avoid hams and roast beef deli meats which can contain quite a bit of fat. Reduce sugar intake, incorporate excercise in daily regimin, she may do okay.

Make sure that she is unhealthy or overweight before you put her on a diet. It could lower her self esteem dramatically. Also, she has to want to be healthier, or else she'll just "cheat" and never lose weight.
Anyways, drinking eight glasses of water does wonders for the body. Honey Wheat pretzels, normally found at your local supermarket, are tasty and low in fat and calories. Excercising always helps. Maybe consider going jogging or doing Pilates with her. Excercise is always more fun with a partner.

breakfast: (not too many carbs) like maybe a bowl of wheaties (not frosted) with soy milk
lunch: salad (no crutons), water, and an apple or other fruit like orange or something, if still hungry pack something else healthy
dinner: water, vegetables including: string beans, carrots, snow peas, artichoke (not with too much mayonaise), etc etc.....she still needs to eat some protein during the day, so id say the best thing to eat would be tofu, i myself hate it unless its mixed with a whole bunch of spices and sauces, but buy tofu that has some sort of flavor, but thats not like high in sodium
also another reason why your daughter may be gaining some "extra weight" may be because she is eating snacks between breakfast lunch and dinner, try to get her out of that habbit, maybe a few nibbles, but not like a whole extra meal and also she may not be getting enough exercise, sign her up to some sport after school during the week like swimming, softball?(im not a big fan, but if she likes it then sign her up!), tennis, maybe even cheerleading, but make sure this sport is something that she likes to do, because if she doesnt like doing it then she may not do it at all.....you want her to stay commited to this sport and get on a regular exercise and a regular diet
hope this helped!

Oh 14, wow, no you will possibly desire to no longer be doing that on your physique at 14. those narrow rapid shaked and weight watchers diets are extremely incredibly undesirable for you. attempt fruit, granola, yogurt or healthful cereal for breakfast and a meat sandwich at lunch with a area of fruit. For dinner have a sort of lean meat, with rice, bread, or potato, and a few sort of veggie. The fit you consume, the better those energy will burn off with the aid of fact their organic. stay faraway from chips, cookies, and the different sugary crammed snack. stable success, Seinna

I think that she obviously is getting negative attention regarding weight-most likely from you. If you stop and realize that your daughter is only 14 years old, maybe you would reconsider and understand you shouldn't be on YahooAnswers, and try getting up once in a while and talking/walking/being active with your own daughter instead of on the computer.

lots of fruits if not, vegies and less fatty foods. try grilling a little because it takes out more fat than frying. she can put lettuce, tomatoes and a piece of thin sliced turkey. and a fruit salad on the side with an icy tall glass of water or tea.
