Do you want to be his girlfriend or not?
If you don't then just ell him that "I think you are into me way more than I am into you and I think we should cool it for a while" There is no sense in leading him on.

Define too much. Is he just very into you and romantic? Or is he being jealous and trying to tell u wat to do? If he's just a bit keen like calling you loads or being all over you you could always have a gentle word with him and respectfully ask him to call less or calm down a bit! But tell him u like him loads. Sometimes boys just need a bit of guiding. If it's sumfin like severe jealously or trying to change you or tell u wat to do with your life then get out of there! Dump him sooner rather than later coz it won't get any better. Hope this helps.

Simply tell him how u feel. Be specific and detailed about what made u feel like that. Many guys cannot read women's mind because in their world, u have to say stuff like that if u hope to be understood by them. If he validates whatever u have to say, he may change for the better.

explain to him that you don't feel as strongly as he does, and to give you time to allow your feelings for him to develop. you could even say that you find that he is smothering you and would he back off just a little to allow time for your feelings as well as his
