Smell nice, but not too overwhelming! Ask her questions like how her day went, etc.
On a personal note - my biggest turn off when I'm getting dinner on a first date is when a guy makes fun of my choice of food! I don't really eat red meat - and usually I like to go for something vegetarian. The biggest turnouff is when a guy will say that I'm silly for not eating meat. Don't judge her!!

It totally depends on what the woman is looking for. Some woman are attracted to guys that are clean shaven and properly dressed. I think my boyfriend looks gorgeous when he's scruffy and in jeans.

Don't be a slob! Clean yourself up.
Don't be pushy but you have to seem interested and not stand-offish.
But to be honest, the most important things are things you can't control.
So just be a gentleman and hope for the best.
