The tried and true treatment to moisturize hair of any length, colour and texture is olive oil; and, it doesn't have to be extra virgin as the last pressings will do just as well. In fact, the ancient civilizations used the last pressings for hair and skin moisturizing.

Simply, once a week rub olive oil in your hair from scalp to ends, comb thoroughly, wrap in a thick, dry towel and leave for 24-hours. Wash out as usual.

The other thing I'll bet you're doing is washing your hair too much. The once-a-day-policy kills all hair and is promoted by the hair product manufacturers so that your hair will need their other useless products. At the most wash it once every 3 days, don't use the shampoo/conditioner in one products, but separate products and if you can let it dry naturally. Using heat in any form damages the hair.

One other thing you can do for your hair is take a daily dose of silica, 500 mg with one meal. This is a mineral found mainly in the plant 'horse tail' which has the highest concentration in the spring. Silica helps to .keep the connective tissues, which are hair, nails, skin, ligaments, tendons and myiofascia, in good condition.

And, finally, if you smoke cigarettes stop now. The contemporary chemicals used to cure the tobacco is so toxic there is nothing that will counteract the damage to your body as long as you're inhaling them.

If your hair is dry don't wash them every day! Shampoo and hot water are the biggest moisture zappers there are!
<>First of all get a shampoo that is for animals and humans (I pesonally recommend Mane 'n Tail) So you can be sure that there are no chemicals.
<>Then, get a good hairmask. Use it every other month.
<>The months you don't use the hair mask pour oil on your hair in the shower and wash and condition as usual.
<>Every week put a mayo mixture and leave in over night. Wash it out in the morning.
Here is the Recipe:
1 cup mayo
1/4 cup sour cream
1 raw egg
1/8 cup extra virgin olive oil
Directions:
<>Mix together and slather on dry or wet hair.
<>Massage into your head for 5 minutes.
<>Put a shower cap on your head and a towel on your pillow.
<>Wash out in the morning.
(<>if you can't sleep with it leave it in for at least 1 hour and then wash out in the morning).

<>If you have oily hair pour lemon juice or vinigar on your hair instead of the oil.

****<>****Always do a final rinse in cold water. This will seal up the hair cutical and give you shine, and a lot less breakage.****<>****

I'm African-American so my answer may not sound normal to you if your not black. Although, I have indian in my blood which has given me a different type of hair type. I use hair grease and wave nouvea. You can find them both in the black hair section in a store. You should apply the hair grease to your scalp after you wash your hair and every night before you go to bed brush you hair with 100 strokes (back and forth). In the morning while doing your hair you should apply the wave nouvea. If you use heat with your hair you should use Arasci. This protects your hair from being damaged from the heat. Make sure your shampoo and conditioner have moisturizer in it. And the last thing i can tell you is to make sure you cut off those split ends.

bring almond oil, put it on ur hair for an hour (not too much or u will have problems washing ur hair), it will give u shiny hair and the dryness will disappear gradually

1.Take a few drops of safflower oil in your palms and carefully take your hair (while dry) and apply the small amount of oil to the ENDS first and work toward the scalp. By applying safflower oil your dry hair will have the proper amount of humectants to attract and retain moisture.
Leave this in your hair for atleast 2 hours before washing.

2.Use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner (on ends only) every other day. Rinse with water alone on off days.

3.Avoid heat-styling (blow-drying, flat-ironing) as often as possible because it damages your hair.

4.When you're at the beach, spread some of the sunscreen you use on your body through your hair so that it doesn't dry out and get crispy.

5.to get a healthy shine in ur hair -after shampooing n conditioning ur hair take arnd 4 cups of water n 1 tsp of honey n mix it really well rinse ur hair wid it n comb thru . dont rinse afterwards

u also need 2 have a healthy diet

Protein
Protein is the building block of hair, so a diet for healthy hair contains an awful lot of protein! Protein will give the shaft of your hair more strength, and will reduce the likelihood of dame through snapping and splitting. You can get protein from foods like fish, meat, milk, cheese and cereals.

Minerals
Iron helps to carry oxygen to the hair. Without enough iron, hair and its follicles get starved of oxygen. This means that the ‘goodness’ in the root of your hair is much less effective along the length of the strand. You can increase your iron intake by eating red meat and dark green vegetables, or by iron supplements.
Zinc builds hair protein which helps to prevent hair loss. Meat and seafood are the foods highest in zinc.
Copper is involved in the pigmentation of hair. You can optimize your natural color with a diet with plenty of copper. Who needs hair dye and fake color! Shellfish, liver, fresh vegetables, nuts, seeds and meat are all high in copper.
Vitamins

Vitamin A will give you a healthy scalp, because it’s great for the skin! You can get vitamin A from foods like vegetables - in particular, in carrots. (So it’s good for the waistline too!)
Vitamin B and C are important for good circulation, hair growth and hair color. If you ensure that you have enough vitamin B and C, you’ll have strong, supple strands of hair that do not split. You can get these vitamins from eating foods like fruit, vegetables, cereals, eggs, milk and bread.

If you wash your hair every day that may be whats doing it. Try washing your hair 5 days a week. Washing your hair everyday is not good for it.
