I once put a diamond necklace in a McDonald's bag for Valentines Day...she loved that.

Get a bottle of grape juice in a wine style bottle. Get a ribbon. Using the ribbon tie the ring to the bottle.
Put the bottle in a wine gift bag and give it to her.
Or get a romantic balloon or flowers. Then use a ribbon to tie it to the balloon or flowers.
Get down on one knee. Give her the gift and ask her to marry you.
Another Idea. Rent her favorite movie. Make popcorn. When you are near the bottom of the bowl, when she is not looking. Drop the ring gently on top of the popcorn so the next bit has it in it. She should feel it when she picks it up.
Another idea. Buy a wedding planning magazine or magazine she likes. Take a small clear baggie like a ziploc bag. Put ring in it and tape it to one of the pages like near the first part of it. When she looking at it she will find it.
Another idea. Get her a really soft stuffed animal. Tie the ring with a ribbon around it's neck or arm.

well you are saying we meaning she already knows your going to ask her? if so then id do it at a family thing and ask her in front of her family. lol mine asked me in the middle of walmart. but if she dont know and isnt expecting it then you could get her a small cake from walmart the little ones and have something sweet wrote on it like just becasue i love you and put the ring in the middle just barely where it wont fall and wont get lost but where you can still see it really good. that would be kind of cool if you know what her favorite cake is guess it would be alil better if her birthday was anytime soon cause she wouldnt look for her bday present there

You should take her somewhere nice to celebrate her coming home from the hospital and take her somewhere very expensve. Then propose to her. I am glad that she is getting out on Thanksgiving. But if you are going to a familys house for dinner or something, propose to her in front of everyone.That would probably make her very happy.

You can rent a plane with the banner proposing....it's not all THAT expensive! Would be nice if you're out on a picnic somewhere...then after the plane goes by pour a glass of champagne and drop the ring in it and give it to her...LOL...ok so that's a tad dramatic but hey, girls love that stuff.

take her hiking in the woods run ahead a little bit and find a low branch on a tree thin enough for the ring and wait for her to catch up (make sure she knows where you are) and call her over to look at the tree where you put the ring... when she sees it ask her to put it on and to marry you
of course this only works if she feels up to a hike

Oh, how sad. I think that what you say to her at this point will reverberate with her more than how you do it. Maybe you could put the ring in flowers and give it to her, or put it in a crackerjack box. Wow, I wish you the best.

Why don't you take her out to dinner and tell the waiter what you are planning to do and then when they bring her her dessert, the ring could be with it and then you could get down on one knee and do it then
