I have observed my kitten alot, and I have noticed that he only blinks when he is REALLY tired. Are kittens/cats supposed to blink?

And yes, I have made sure that he doesn't blink, I am 100% sure of that. Thanks in advance!

Oh, sorry people! My kitten is about 4 and a half months old.

Cats and dogs don't blink as frequently as humans- they tend to squint, as you have probably observed, but only blink occasionally. Nothing to worry about. Cats and dogs also have a sort of interior eyelid which you may have noticed if he is half asleep on your lap-this also helps to protect their eyes.

My puppy only blinks when he is looking at me very intently and even then it's very deliberate- like he's trying to wink! :)

But I'd bet that their blink reflex is too fast for us to see - so at normal, non-tired speed a kitten is blinking so quickly that we humans could never catch it.

Cats often blink slowly while looking at you to convey a feeling of ease with you.......think of it as there way of smiling!!
