You could shoot Osama, but the american soldier he was holding hostage would definitely die (lets accept that as a given for the purpose of this debate). Would you let Osama go in exchange for the soldiers life?

I would make Osama Bin Laden let the US Soldier go and take me hostage. I would do every thing in my power to make shure the US Soldier would not die, even if i die. I would die in the place of the US Soldier, would u?

No. I hate to say this but people join the army knowing full well that there may be a time that they'll have to give their life for the freedom of those back home, this is a sad fact but a true one. If Osama was cornered by me, both would have to die. Sorry.

If you shoot Osama in the head he isn't getting a shot off. I don;t see why the soldier has to die too.
Bottomline, if Osama walked in my room right now I would have no problem blowing his head off.

NO, Osama would shoot the soldier anyway, so you do something to distract Osama, then have the US Army sniper finished Osama with a nice clean head shot and
that is the end of story!!!!!!!

No as much as I would feel for that Soldiers life...
I would still take the shot. Head shot to be sure and hope and pray that I hit Osama with the shot that prevented him from pulling the trigger or at least being able to kill my comrade in arms.

Believe me, if I were that soldier being held hostage, I would give you no choice but to shoot because of my actions. I would not be surprised if most in uniform would do the same.
So yours becomes a "moot question"
