Hello Everybody - first happy Thanksgiving to you all !
I just found that I must go to France in 3 weeks. I'm a French citizen, with a Green Card. I have one those "old" passport without the biometric ready or scanning. It has not expiried though -
Can I still come back to the USA without renewing it ? or Do I have to renew it quickly ?
Thank you

The government of France is at present issuing biometric passports to replace older passports as they expire. However, you do not have to replace your passport if it is still valid.

As long as you have a valid passport and green card, you can travel without problems. You might want to keep an eye on the French embassy's web page to see if they decide to replace ALL passports in the future.

If you are a French citizen then you hold a French passport and it's the American passports that have the biometric thingy not the French ones.

I guess you are registered with the French Consulate closest to you so I would give them a call just to be sure but:
You will be okay.

My husband is French with a green card too.

If you are going to be gone less than 180 days, all you need is your I-551. Anyway still take your passport. Good luck.

Happy Thanksgiving day!
