You would be allowed to bring them back as check luggage, but not as a carry-on. If you bring them back in check luggage, be sure to make sure they are packed properly to prevent them from receiving any damage. Bags take a beating when being transfered from flight to flight.

NOTE: Any sharp objects in checked baggage should be sheathed or securely wrapped to prevent injury to baggage handlers and inspectors.

If they aren't sharp and you stuff them in your bag it should be no problem. We bought some in Germany, and carried it through to Iceland and then the US with no problem. This was 2 summers ago, so it may have gotten stricter, or It might be because they didn't find it, but as long as it isn't on your carry on, I don't think it would be a problem.
