Unless ur hair is naturally straight, nothing but a straightening iron or a perm will make ur hair straight. I believe that everyone's hair works with straightening irons, but that they might not be doing it right. Here's a way to straighten ur hair correctly:
1. At night, take showers using some sort of smoothing shampoo and conditioner. Try Pantene (the green one)
2. In the morning, when ur hair is dry, put the top part up and leave some hair hanging down.
3. Take some of the hair hanging down, brush it to get the knots out, then comb it to make it smooth.
4. Stretch that bunch out so that it is straight, and beginning as close to the roots as possible, run the straightening iron very slowly down it to the tips of that bunch of hair.
5. Move onto the next group of hair, repeating steps 3-4.
6. When u finish with all the hair hanging down, take out some more of your hair, and repeat steps 3-5. You don't need to restraighten the bottom part that u straightened in steps 3-5.
7. Keep doing this until you finish.
This is called straightening your hair in layers. Straightening it all at once does not work. Most people do it in 3 layers. U might need more or less, but probably more.
If u still need help, then ask a professional hairdresser to demonstrate it for u. It's hard to straighten ur hair in the beginning, but soon u'll get the hang of it.
Good Luck!

Go to a salon and have a chemical straightener, but preferably have a strand test first to see if your hair can take it. Or use lots of protective products and a good ceramic straightener every day or so! I prefer GHD straighteners myself.

First use a ceramic flat iron. CHI is a great one. Its expensive but it works wonders. Also straigthen in layers, Like the poster before me said you have to do it in layers if you want it to get really straight.
It also takes patience . Sometimes doing my hair it takes over 45 minutes, but during the day I get dozens of compliments

straightener might work for you. when you shop, look for hair wax or foam or whatever dedicated to straighten curly hair. if your hair is curly/wawy, ordinary hair wax will make it curly even more.
