She does this during play or "quality time", also when I'm relaxing on the couch, she walks on the back of the couch then curls her head around my neck then pushes her neck over my face. She is very loving and sweet. Just wondered if this is a particular message..she does this to my husband, too or anyone, really. She's a lover not a fighter...

Wants attention, possibly, or wants to claim you as her territory, Dogs are pack animals that love the other people in their pack. Your dog wants to be with you all the time and probably is trying to give you a sign that she loves you and wants you around all day. She sounds like she's a fairly aggressive female who really wants to get her point across to you!

Wow - that's a strange behavior (even for a terrier!) When does this behavior take place? Sounds like playing, and like she's just having a goof. I guess if you really didn't like her to do this, or if she started growling at you while doing this, you could just stand up and totally ignore her. The message you'd send her would be the same as if she were biting you or doing other undesirable behaviors during play : "If you do behavior "x" then the game's over."

Don't worry the dog isn't trying to suffocate you. Dogs like to be around your breath. There are a lot of smells in there. They can feel your alive and it is kind of a muzzle to muzzle thing for them.
