I have had problems all my life with anorexia, and have spent time in hospitals for it. Currently I am doing okay but the illness is always there. I can tell a huge issue with an anorexic is the control factor, and if you as a friend intervene to aggressively you will only push them farther into it. Anorexia and Bulimia are very hard to treat and really require professional help. As a friend or family member the best thing you can do is be there for them and try to understand. You can encourage the person to get help but usually the person needs to be forced into it.
Typically not always, anorexics hate to eat in front of other people, will eat very little to no food, has an obsession for exercise and weight loss. They become more seclusive and loose interest in things they use to love. They also try to hide their body by wearing baggy or over sized clothing. They have a low self esteem, Physically they can grow light hair covering their body, loose their menstrual cycle and well be under weight (of course).
You can not really stop them on your own. I have had problems for 12 years and it is a constant battle and I have watched my family suffer too. I hate to hurt them but the eating disorder is something that control the person rather than the person controling it. The longer it goes untreated the harder it gets to treat it. If you have questions you can e mail me at tritanbear@yahoo.com. I have done counseling as I have gone through the recovery.

you mustn't. there is not any reason to be anorexic. Making your self throw up and not eating is in basic terms a manner of killing your self. And it rather is in basic terms a manner asserting which you're too lazy and incapable of being healthful. you could drop some weight be exercising habitual and eating good. It would not take an prolonged time you in basic terms ought to stay with it. you could desire to talk with a therapist so which you will get help. you're ill. we are analyzing the question good. you are the only no longer seeing issues. eating problems are stupid. there is not any reason for them. you're unlikely to locate anyone who helps you and says "Oh yeah best for you. permit me help you kill your self." i'm hoping your mothers and fathers locate out in view which you go with help.

you would tell by the way they acted...they would start to lose weight...you would notice that they aren't eating as much...tehy are chewing their food more...like they sit and chew and chew on one bite...they take smaller bites and eat smaller portions...they start eating wierd things they don't usually eat...like if they usually eat junk food and now they're eating nothing but salad...they exercise more frequently than they used to...are all indications of an eating disorder...the biggest two are weightloss and eating less....you need to tell someone that cna help them like another family member..school counselor (if it's your friend)...and make you support them and are behind them 100 percent as they go through whatever they are going through...another thing to look out for is little remarks about how they need to lose weight or they're fat...whatever..especially if they are skinny....

Get them to see a doctor or a psychiatrist, as anorexia is mental as much as physical. Get them medical help even if you have to put them in a straitjacket and drag them there-anorexics rarely admit they have a problem.
