At one point in high school I prob had like 8 or 9 in 1 year. It seems like ever since 8th or 9th grade Ive had this problem with nosebleeds, its gotten better maybe 4-5 a year just had one yesterday too. I notice alot of my recent ones happen just as I wake up it feels kinda funny as soon as I wake up next thing I know my pillow is soaked in blood. My nose usually feels dry before one, but idk if thats the problem.

does it happen mostly in the winter? after blowing your nose? do you sleep in a "dry-air" room?

here are some solutions:

(drink a lot. it will hydrate your skin.)

the skin may be dry and/or cracked:
put some Vaseline on a Q-tip (cotton swab) and gently apply it to the inside wall of your nose. (on the bone side)

you may have a bulging blood vessel - and/or chronic dry skin in your nose:
you can also go to an ENT (ear nose throat doctor) and have them cauterize the affected area - a virtually painless procedure where the doctor will "burn" the area, thus making a scar. hence, you will not bleed out of a scar.

visit your doctor. he/she may ask you if you are seeing blood in your stool, which would be an indication of thinning blood. (probably not your case, but you may want to ask the doctor)

in any case... good luck! feel better!

You may have really thin mucus membrane, if you have the vessels cauterized the bleeding should stop, but sometimes you have to have it done more than once. But it also could be do to high blood pressure, but if you have had it since high school and don't have kidney problems that it is probably not hypertension.

The bleeding in nose can be due to many reasons such as deficiency's of vitamin C,bleeding and clotting disorders. There can be some infection or local condition in the nose. You can consult some E.N.T surgeon for correct diagnosis. This can also be due to high B.P ,get your B.P checked.

You possibly could be getting nosebleeds from a medicine you could be taking. I took Flonase for pollen allergies when I was a kid and probably had at least 2 a month.
