I know I would never be able to solve the world's problems on my own, it would be foolish to think so. So I suppose the first step is unity - abolition of prejudice in all areas, and an end to judgement (apart from society's judgement/laws for protection of the public and such.) And the second- I do not know. Peace would be ideal, or at least defensive peace - no countries attacking each other for minute reasons, especially religious ones.

I would assume that there is no perfect way to engage in a war, so when it comes to the current politics being involved directly, it's the same thing over and over again. Except, though, that our country's biggest enemy is the people they're fighting, and the people who sent them. I feel that the best way and first step to making the world a better place is the president taking all of our soldiers and sailors and airmen back. We are currently the only country sending troops out by the masses. I'm really glad China is deciding not to strike us because then we would be screwed. So, all we have to do is remove people from overseas to correct their way of life as we see it.

1Change my insides toward compasion and nonjudgment change and ask how my actions affect others including 2 generations ahead of me. WHat I buy what I consume and who I vote for etc etc am I acting selfishly or with compassion for all others.
2 look outward with compassion particiapating with joy in the sorrows of the world to act with love. Show the joy that taking care of the earth brings, show the joy of feeding the poor, show the joy in thinking of the next two generations.Show the joy and people will want what I have and do what I do.
The only new philosophy that is morrally acceptable is one that includes the planet and considers all humans one part of a whole list of sentient beings. We all are part of one web.
The third step well that is not to be focused on results nothing realy good happens in just one lifetime. Trust whatever your higher power is, I call him God that whatever happens I have participated I have helped to make things better.

Education as to the true nature of the problems at hand.
Open, honest discourse & action to solve them. Which doesn't really happen as often as one would hope.
Perhaps a good series of questions would be;
What do you think are the world's greatest problems?
How would you solve 'problem one ... two ... three, etc'?
See what answers you get to those & start letting politicians, world organizations and the general public here them.

1. Step one - education for everyone. When people stop living in ignorance they can understand the importance of birth control, environment, etc. With an educated population, the people can elect educated leaders. Stop reacting out of fear and zealotry.
2. Greater global cooperation. Something like the UN but much stronger. This would reduce chances of war and ease environmental strains.

I don't care about solving the world's problems. I only care about solving my own. I suppose that as long as there are people who think like me, the world's problems won't be solved.

The next questioner thinks that you have lost your mind. If I don't get a "best answer " I will agree.
