It's easier now than ever to start a new religion. If you don't believe in something, you will fall for anything. So many people today do not believe in anything.

Also, there is the idea that truth is relative. People today don't care what is true. They just want to be told what they want to hear. All traditional doctrines and morals are being thrown out the window. So, there is infinite potential right now for new religions.

Probably not - look at Jones Town - look at David Koresh. The Bible actually states that lots of 'religions' will pop up and we are to guard against them. Scientology is relatively new and has lots of followers - which I really don't understand. I don't get the whole 'alien living in your head' stuff.

What religion do you have in mind? A man-made God. You can but please don't mislead the people. No religion is more true than God's religion.
