Because you haven't eaten for so long your metabolism rate decreases and is at its lowest when you first wake up. By not eating until 3ish you're keeping it at this rate and it'll take longer to break down the food you're eventually eating.

Having something in the morning even just a cornflakes bar or a piece of fruit (Bananas are best) kick starts the metabolism and will run at a higher rate burning more, usually causing you to get hungry 3 hours after eating. So actually eating breakfast in the morning can help to keep off or loose weight!

Eating breakfast is essential to healthy eating. Your metabolic rate is fastest in the morning as so lets you burn up calories from food a lot better and faster than later on in the evening. Eating boosts your metabolism and if you go too long without eating it slows down too much this really isn't healthy for your liver. I'm not saying eat even if you're not hungry. I'm saying maybe you eat late at night and it does you until the next day but that really isn't healthy you should not eat within 3 hours of going to bed and even at that nothing too heavy after 6pm. Not by changing your diet but perhaps by changing your eating routine you could solve this problem. Do you have headaches? If so that could be the reason. I hope i have helped you, somewhat.

I am the same way. I wont eat till around 3, then ill eat again around 8 or 9. Ive found that this is really unhealthy and has caused me to gain weight, but im in college, its not like i wanna eat like this. One thing i try to do is just have some juice or a peice of fruit in the morning to get some vitamins and nutrients. Any little bit of nutrition you can get in the morning will help you out. And take a vitamin in the morning too.

Generally speaking, splitting your caloric intake throughout the day is better for you. If you burn the calories you consume, they are less likely to end up in storage as fat or starch.

As to why you are not hungry, it likely has to do with your habits. Eating late at night can leave you still full, with less desire to eat in the morning. Also, if you haven't been used to eating, your brain simply does not associate mornings with mealtimes.

Not all biological organisms need to eat at regular intervals. Lions are known to gorge on one meal and then "starve" for a few days. Humans are not much more different. I once read a report on australian aboriginal group that lied very nomadically. They would feast when food was available, and the during the lean days would cut down their activity and essentially eat very little. This is likely how we all where, before mass production of food and invention of storage mediums. That is why some of us are so good at storing food in our bodies, its a positive adaptive gene we carry from the feast and famine days. the down side today being that with overabundance of food, we are doing more "storing" and less "spending" of the calories.

I rarely eat breakfast either. Im just not hungry. Oh well. You can try forcing it but that makes no sense to me because then you will force your self to eat and then eat the other meals you normally do.. is it good to over eat?
