I have been a non smoker now for just over a year. When i used to smoke there were issues then about people smoking in public, What is it like now?
If anyone smokes by me now i will get up and move as i think it is the most disgusting smell i have ever smelt, yet when i smoked i thought it was the best...!!!
I was out at a function recently and a lot of people were smoking in the room, when i woke up the following day my throat was as sore as hell and it took about 3 days to get back to normal.
I know i have done a lot of damage through smoking but i feel fantastic for giving up, i had a patch on for 3 days then went it alone. YOU DON'T NEED GIMMICKS, IF YOU WANT TO GIVE UP, WILLPOWER IS ENOUGH.

Well done, and I would encourage anyone else, you are financially better off also, to anyone who smokes , if you Had , like I have done, seen the video of what your lungs look like after smoking full of horrible brown tar , it is a totally unhealthy life style, only people with no will power of their own smoke, if you where in a room on fire an inhaled the smoke it would kill you, by smoking cigs you are driving another coffin nail into your box, if you can get off them

Good for you.

Its not nice being subjected to the smoke. Thankfully, I live in Scotland where there is a ban in all indoor places so I don't have to put up with it anymore.

I suffer from chest infections and smoking aggravates them, most of my friends smoke, so when we were out for a meal we always had to sit in a smoking section and i would usually go home feeling ill. I know smokers think they are being victimised, but we often don't get a choice and have to in hail secondary smoke.

I gave up 3 years ago and am discusted in myself for ever doing it in the first place. I also went out with friends last weekend all of them smoke, when i got home i stunk of smoke, my eyes were sore and did'nt feel right for a couple of day's after. People who have given up smoking moan more than those who have never smoked i find. I wish they could see what they're doing to themselves.

i totally agree with you, smoking is so nasty. i have many friends that feel the same way. about a week ago there were a few of us in a bar and all of a sudden about 7 people all started smoking at once. when we saw that we all got up and left. i hope more people are like you who decide to quit. where i live we just passed no smoking in public and i cant wait for it to take effect!!

As a Christian, since aged thirteen, and having known God since aged eight, inside a NDE in months of coma... I have never had to become a 'born again' anything, because my faith in god and Christ, has never wavered...

I can promise you, NEXT to born again Christians, who hector and bully others into believing their 'newly discovered version' of our creator's words... regardless of their limited understanding that, Christ himself told us that a successful/wealthy Christian, will not get into heaven... that true Christians are persecuted and must give up materialism to follow Him... there is nothing WORSE than a born again non smoker!

I do not force my faith on others, never have, never will, I merely choose to live a Christian life and share my personal experience of God, and this way, others have been drawn to ask my secret of survival and coping with the many problems life throws at me, whilst, still retaining a happy and loving and caring nature.

So it is with smoking... I gave up smoking for six years, during which time, I never nagged anyone else to do the same. I simply kept an ashtray for my visitors who smoked, and when I took smoking up again (it beats mind bending medication) during serious family problems, I discovered, just how much those pill popping, boozing people, decided to judge me!

So, in bloody mindedness, I refuse to stop... and at my age, it really doesn't make a lot of difference anyway...

I've kept quiet on smokers being bashed for long enough... be a born again anything you like, just respect that 'freedom of choice' is true democracy... and go peddle your views somewhere else!

Good for you! I've never been a smoker, and the smell of cigs is totally nauseating to me. I wish it would be banned in all public places, and it's slowly coming.

Nothing worse than the opinion of a former smoker, some of us enjoy it.

There's nothing worse than a converted smoker. Give it a rest mate, we don't need you lecturing us.
