Well, he built a wall between Mexico and the United States. You do the math.

Honestly I don't think he has a problem with them but his better judgment is going to dictate a "no amnesty solution". Maybe I shouldn't say better judgment but the fact that true Americans are vigorously against illegal immigration. Didn't the the president have a gardner who was an illegal alien working on his ranch in Crawford, Texas. If this is true I don't think he was aware of the workers status in the US. Someone else probably hired him.

Below is a funny article you might want to read. But as far as the 700 mile fence goes, I heard it was all smoke and mirrors again as listed in 2nd link and a 1000 more like it

I don't know what President George's view is on much of anything,I can only go by what he says (sometimes) and try to determine if he's telling the truth or not

Here Is A Transcript Of
President George W. Bush's Immigration Reform Speech
Delivered To The Nation Tuesday May 16, 2006

http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2006/05/20060515-8.html

Thank YOU George,
For RE-ENFORCING The Realities
That So Many Of Us Already Know,
But YOU REFUSE To Face -

A Summary Of Those Realities

THE FACT IS
that the construction of any barriers along the border,
under the terms of the REAL ID ACT,
could be initiated at any time, at the complete discretion
of the Bush Administration’s Secretary of Homeland Security,
Michael Chertoff.
If the border fence has not been constructed,
Secretary Chertoff must take responsibility.
This is the same Michael Chertoff
who is pushing the Bush Administration’s
“guest worker” program,
and who claims that it is not “practical”
to deport illegal aliens.

THE FACT IS that President Bush
has a very close relationship
with Mexican President Vicente Fox,
who is a strong supporter of open borders
and who adamantly opposes
the construction of any border fence.

THE FACT IS that the Bush Administration’s
Ambassador to Mexico, Tony Garza,
was quoted in an article
in the November 11, 2005 edition of the Orange County Register
that President Bush “knows that such proposals
(constructing a border wall or fence)
are both unrealistic and undesirable.”

THE FACT IS that The Bush Administration
has demonstrated absolutely no interest or will
to construct a border fence to protect the American people,
even though it is clearly within their power to do so.

In His Speech, Mr Bush Stated :
We are a nation of laws, and we must enforce our laws.
(Then Why Havent We Enforced The Existing Immigration Laws)

THE FACT IS
that there is already a federal statutory framework in place
which specifically prohibits the hiring of illegal aliens,
which provides record keeping rules
to verify an employee’s work authorization and identity,
and which provides for monetary sanctions (Fines)
to be levied against employers
who violate the provisions of the law.

THE FACT IS
that Illegal Aliens work in every sector of our country,
siphoning jobs from Americans and depressing wages
for the working poor and the middle class –
and yet employer sanctions
go largely unenforced by our government.

THE FACT IS that big business,
which has provided massive financial support
to the Bush Administration,
and which benefits from hiring illegal aliens
and paying them cheap wages
while skirting employer tax and record keeping obligations,
does not want “employer sanctions” enforced.

THE FACT IS that the Bush Administration
has had the responsibility for “cracking down on employers
who hire illegal aliens” and has failed miserably
to enforce existing “employer sanction” laws.

CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN WHY
THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION HAS ALLOWED
THE NUMBER OF FINES AGAINST EMPLOYERS
WHO UNLAWFULLY HIRE ILLEGAL ALIENS
TO FALL FROM 400 IN 1999 TO ONLY THREE (3) IN 2004?

THE FACT IS that there are ALREADY laws on the books
providing for the deportation of illegal aliens,
whether they are simply here illegally,
which, of course, is a crime in and of itself,
or whether they have committed additional crimes as well.

THE FACT IS that the Bush Administration
has made little or no effort to enforce these laws.
Instead, they implemented a “catch and release” policy.
This policy allows an apprehended illegal alien
to remain free in the United States
if that person simply agrees to appear at a court hearing!
The results of this policy have been disastrous.

“Knowing they’re unlikely to be jailed,
thousands of immigrants have surrendered
to Border Patrol agents, and then have been allowed
to continue their journey into America,
court summonses in hand,”
says T.J. Bonner,
president of the National Border Patrol Council.

There are actually reports of illegal aliens
taking taxis from the border to Border Patrol offices
to turn themselves in, to be “caught and released”
as a way to cross into this country.
Under pressure, the Bush Administration has claimed
that this policy would be replaced “gradually.”

THE FACT IS that, according to T.J. Bonner,
president of the National Border Patrol Council,
which represents about 10,000 Border Patrol agents and staff,
“the immigration system is broken
to the point where you just want to throw up your hands.”

It is this broken system that the Bush Administration
has shown absolutely no desire to mend,
and that the Bush Administration believes is “working fine.”

THE FACT IS
that the Bush Administration’s immigration policies,
have totally failed to provide the financial resources
or the manpower necessary for the U.S Border Patrol
to effectively do its job of controlling our borders.

THE FACT IS that the Bush Administration
has done absolutely nothing to discourage
the proliferation and tax-payer funding of Sanctuary Cities,
Municipalities that have designated themselves
to be Sanctuary Cities
providing illegal aliens protection from deportation,
in violation of federal law.
They unconstitutionally arrogate to themselves
federal government authority,
while tying the hands of local law enforcement
by prohibiting them from reporting illegal aliens
to federal authorities.

THE FACT IS
that the Bush Administration’s record on illegal immigration
and border security is generally regarded,
even by its supporters,
as one of neglect,
and by serious proponents of immigration reform
and border security,
as a disaster!

THE FACT IS
that the Bush Administration’s immigration policies,
cannot be taken seriously
as an advocate of strict enforcement of immigration laws.

He cannot be trusted to support
or advance legislative measures
to stop the flood of illegal aliens
or secure our broken borders.

WE DON’T WANT ANYMORE EMPTY RHETORIC
AND WASTED TIME!
WE WANT OUR LAWS TO BE RESPECTED
AND ENFORCED!
