What's the difference? Both of them are men, who know if you've been naughty or nice. Both are powerful. Why do some people grow out of the Santa myth but not the God myth?

Santa has a direct and tangible effect, specifically the delivery of gifts. When we realise that role is being performed by someone else, usually our parents, we realise Santa doesn't exist. God doesn't have a direct and tangible effect.

Santa Claus, Saint Nicholas, Saint Nick, Father Christmas, Kris Kringle, Santy, or simply Santa is a mythical gift-giving figure in various cultures who distributes presents to children, traditionally on December 24, Christmas Eve. The popular American form Santa Claus originated as a mispronunciation of Dutch Sinterklaas, which is a contracted form of Sint Nicolaas (Saint Nicholas).

Father Christmas is a well-loved figure in many countries and predates the "Santa Claus" character. "Father Christmas" is similar in many ways, though the two have quite different origins. Using 'Santa' in places that predominantly call him 'Father Christmas' is often viewed as an Americanism and is quite rare, although they are generally regarded as the same character

Santa Claus is thus a social celebration and perhaps a carry over from the pre-Christian times and given a Christian twist.

God on the other hand a more fundamental yearning of man to know what he is, where does he comes from and what is his ultimate destination. The answer to these questions differ from religion to religion but the destination is identical.Science is doing its utmost to disabuse the human mind about the presumed existence of god and the phenomenal world being His creation and that it is result of the process of evolution. However, it has not been able to irradicate the idea completely from human mind.

With growing knowledge the idea of Sanga Claus may be diluted with time the concept of God which, as stated, is a more fundamental human need and will not wither away.

Well cuz God isnt a myth, one can actually see Him working in their lives and heart, Santa also a real person, died long ago, God will never die, neither are a myth, but God is well~God. God is powerful enough to break addictions off our lives where santa is not. God can change hearts and save marriages and heal bodies. People that have relationship with Him have those wonderful benefits, people that dont, do not. That is why some call Him a myth.

God is clearly more powerful. Although Santa is a much better lover: he may only come once a year, but when he does he fills your stockings.

My mother pulled this junk on me when I was nine years old. She sat me down and told me that GOD was like the Easter bunny. That really threw me for a loop. I prayed all the time and got answers back. I thought I was crazy. It took almost 20 miserable, hate filled. arrogant, empty suicidal, depressed years to came back face to face with Jesus Christ. I was raised from the dead and I am whole and complete today. My mother was trying to help me but she said things that were not true and my reaction to those words almost killed me many times. I am alive today only by the grace of GOD. That's the living GOD.
Sometimes our words mean more then you think.
