Well, if they didn't believe in God they wouldn't be Hindus, now would they?

Of course. We are all Jeeva Atman or Individual Soul. God is Param Atman or the Super Soul. Our soul is made up of the same qualities of Param Atman, just like a drop of water from the ocean has the same properties as water from the ocean. Hindus belive that God is Om. Even the Bible says that in the beginning was the word and the word was God. Scientists say that the first sound in creation was Om. Different Dieties in Hinduism represent powers of God, for eg. God is referred to as Brahma when he is creating. Hinduism is open minded. Hindus believe that all religions lead to one God just as different rivers can lead to one ocean. There are some closed minded people who think that they have a monopoly on God and only they know God because they belong to one particular religion. I don't know what makes them think that they are better than others but one cannot realize God when ego is rampant. No matter what religion you belong to, you can realize God. We all pray to the same God. According to Shri Satya Sai Baba, there is only one God, the God of love. The sooner we all realize this, the sooner there will be peace in the world. Lots of love to my brothers and sisters all over the world, be you Hindu, Muslim, Christian, black, white, brown, pink, whatever...

Lol @ catty.... actually if you look at the sanskrit and vedic scriptures, you will see that Hindus also believe in the concept of one God. They believe that this ONE God is represented in many forms. In other words, you can see God in anything and everything. See a similarity there? Would you call yourself paranoid now?
Ah ignorance really is sheer bliss.

Badmasha - The Hindu Pundits and Scholars agree that the Vedas and other Hindu religious scriptures prohibit idol worship.
So Lord knows what your teachers are gonna tell you. But good luck anyway :)

If you mean gods, then because they were raised that way. I doubt many of them believe in "God".
