LOL...yes! But since this society is male dominated, unfortunately, women will still go through that painful procedure and the men will still cause war and find non-circumcised females to sleep around with. Ick, aren't you glad that you don't live there!!!
BTW, I worked as a Labor and Delivery nurse for a long time in our inner city hospital and took care of a few patient with female circumcision. It was butchery! The women often had a difficult time giving birth naturally because of all of the scarring that was down there.
Oh, and to refute what was being said in later posts...some of the women I cared for were Muslim, some were from African cultures. It happens in more than just Africa. I know that it is not a function of the religion, however. The asker did state "some" Muslims...not all.

I cannot believe how ignorant most of these answerers are. I think it's illegal in all fifty US states to perform a female circumcision, but like abortion prior to Roe V. Wade, that doesn't stop it from happening. Should their daughters be removed from the home if it's done? I don't know. It's an iffy thing that we don't really know enough about. Some cultures do it in a clinical medical environment and although that doesn't make it ok, it beats the crap out of the other cultures that do it to an eight or nine year old girl with a broken piece of glass and no sanitary precautions. I think extreme education on the parent's part, reteaching them that female circumcision is not a cleanliness issue nor does it preclude female promiscuity is the first line of attack. But removing a child from otherwise loving parents should be considered on a case by case basis, and can do more harm than good. The rest of you, start googling FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION. Read a friggin' book once in a while.

Violence and more importantly mutilation of any kind is strictly frowned upon in Islam. I understand the logic of your question, however a tooth for a tooth is applicable in monotheistic principles from whatever back ground, but nowhere in Islam has female circumcision been prescribed to avoid promiscuity. Islam has taboos and rules like other religions or rules of law governing societies and countries, and therefore adultery is a punishable sin, in-fact has serious consequences. This itself should work as a deterrent. In-fact intercourse is to be enjoyed by married partners, and foreplay in no uncertain terms is encouraged between couples to increase their love and intimacy. Ignorance however prevails unfortunately in most societies not just the Islamic, but defamation of Islam and undermining of Muslim practices seem to be the chosen subject of media exploitation by the tabloids. Unfortunately such articles expose only the rising ignorance of the general population and does no favour in bridging the gap between Muslims and everybody else. The first port of call of Jihad is one's own self. To fight against temptation. Temptation as basic as the glory of dying a martyr. One is judged by ones intentions and not one's deeds, although evil deeds are punished proportionate to the pain they inflicted upon another human. Do jihadists really believe in their cause or are they misguided to die taking so many innocent people with them , in the belief of purchasing for themselves a place in paradise? You see by killing indiscriminately, they have taken the decision that all who die deserved to do so, but they dont know do they whether there were strict monotheists amongst them, in which case they have committed murder. Moreover there is no excuse because it is not for the individual to act as judge jury and executioner, but this subject is far too complicated to cover in this limited space. In brief the answer to your question is, female circumcision is not an Islamic practice, nor is murdering indiscriminately outside of the battlefield.

I believe you are referring to female genital mutilation. This is something that should be stopped, they need to enforce laws against males who violate them. Such as raping a woman..She will be seen as a whore and the man will be seen as someone who brought this to light. They also have Honor killings, If a woman is thought to have done anything that may bring shame onto the family a family member will murder her, this is also illegal but is not enforced so the family faces no consequences and the Woman who was murdered is forgotten about.

Circumcising females is BARBARIC. THE ONLY REASON THEY DO IT IS BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO RESPECT FOR WOMEN. GOD IS NO RESPECTOR OF PERSONS. LITTLE GIRLS ARE FORCIBLY HELD DOWN WHILE THEIR MOTHERS WATCH THIS BEING DONE , what is this world coming to! I am glad I do not live in the Middle East, I wouldn't be able to sit back and watch this. I wish there was something I could do to stop this torture. How dare they blame Promiscuity on these girls. I haven't heard of any women raping MEN over there!!!Have you????????????? This literally makes me SICK!

Do they do this because they are afraid the girls will not be faithful to their husbands?
Is it because the men are such lousy lovers they can't keep a woman happy in bed unless she's been mutilated?
Yikes!!
I am SOOO blessed that I was born a US citizen!! Thank you, Lord!!

Im embarrassed for your stupidity.. If you dont know about something, dont post about it and make yourself out to be a doofus..
Islam doesnt have circumcision of girls.. Its a cultural thing of some countries that just happen to be muslim.. But Islam doesnt condone mutilation of our bodies like that... .. If by chance that country has christians, buddists, athiests etc.. they would all probably take part in it... dont confuse culture with religion..
