what style and color furniture goes with a brass bed?

I have a brass bed and need to buy night stands and and dresser. I don't have any idea what matches or goes with brass!

Actually.. t hat would depend on the room itself... Is there plenty of light(natural light) in the room? If so, then a dark mahogony furniture would look great. If the room is gloomy and not much light, then a lighter... Hickory or such would be better... It also depends on the color of the carpet.... and the color of the walls.. I would have to look at the total package to be able to ADEQUATELY advise.

Mahogany always goes well with brass. Now, there is bright brass and antique/rubbed/patinated/oil-blackened/brushed brass...but my guess is that yours is a polished brass bed. If it is older, try some antique walnut pieces. Don't worry about everything matching--if you look at the White House or for that matter any house in Architectural Digest, nothing is from the same collection per se, but it all MATCHES.

When I see Brass beds I think of Victorian or something like that. A darker wood with an ornate kind of feel to the piece I should think. Nothing too Modern. If you're really not into that go to the other extreme- with lots of metal accents and such. Depends, is your bed a four poster? What kind of feel does the headboard have? Retro or Modern? Retro or Victorian= dark wood
Modern= lighter wood (Just my opinion!!)

Not having a picture of your furniture makes it a little difficult, but you might look at a metal bedstead. They come in many styles from plain to fancy, traditional to modern. Just search under metal bedsteads. Metal bedsteads don't engulf a room and can come in natural or painted finishes.

Golden or dark Oak, light mohagany. cherry looks really good, too.
