have been bumping heads for a while now, she is 15 and has been having boyfriends now. she came home with a hickey one day and i punished her. the other day we had another fight and she told me that she likes boys 99% and 1% she likes girls. I feel as though she said it because she actually hated me at the moment. but i am still concerned. any advice on teens these days?

You need to remember that you were once 15 also and crazy about boys and butted heads with your mom. Maybe you need to set some limits for when your daughter can go out with her boyfriend, when she must be home. You also have every right to know where she is going when she is out and you have the right to meet the young men she is dating. If they are much older than her, you have the right to refuse to allow her to go out with them.

Young people need to have limits set just like toddlers do to protect them from getting into trouble. You also need to have a heart to heart talk with your daughter, not accusingly but to find out if she is already sexually active and if so, make sure she has protection (the pill or whatever) and make sure she is using it. For your sake and your daughters, I am sure you don't need to have grandchildren before your own daughter is fully grown.

Im 20 and BOY do i remember THOSE days - one min she HATES you the other you can do no wrong hey?!

Dont worry - once she is old enough to realise that you are the one person she can trust 100% she will calm down.

For now? Well you just have to put up with each other - dont punnish her - talk to her - that is the BEST way to be mother and daughter - she'll only resent you for punnishment!

Good luck! xx

usually, if a girl has a hickey that means more is going on then just that. trust me i know. i am a teenage mother. but there is nothing you can really do. just punishing her will make her want to leave and go do more stuff behind your back. and if you tell her to stay away from guys, then she is not going to listen to you. if she wants to do something with them, its going to happen. just try to be her friend and talk to her about it, dont ground her.

Age 15 is not too old for a good paddling! sounds like she needs one.
