what is the relation of the criminal to the judge?

Your question is rather open ended actually. What is the gender of the criminal. I'll take it that the criminal is a woman. If so, the judge's relationship with the criminal is that of husband and wife.

a. either the judge is also the criminal, in which case they would be father and son
b.the criminal is the mother, in which case the criminal and the judge are or were lovers. (or the judge donated some of his team for a good cause)

Well they have no relationship.... Simply because... the JUDGE is also the CRIMINAL...

Not unless... the CRIMINAL is a WOMAN...

In that case... The CRIMINAL is the mother of the son of the JUDGE....

Therefore.... the CRIMINAL and the JUDGE are husband and wife...
