It's not such a bad idea, having a playmate makes things a lot more fun for both puppies. However, you'll need a lot of free time to spend with both dogs. I mean not just an hour in the morning and a few hours at night after work, we're talking five to six hours in the morning and six to seven hours at night. I guess it also depends on where you live. Can your house/apartment handel two puppies? How big are these dogs going to get? Are you raising them by yourself? As for potty training: a puppy can pee u to 8 times a day and poop 3 to 4 times a day till they are about 6 months old. Take them outside often and to the same spot time and time again (especially right after meals). Wait till they go and after they do reward them with lots of attention and treats telling them what a good jod they did. If you think people are thing your a nut job then you're giving them just enough attention. Best of luck. Having a dog is one of the best things in the world, but having a puppy takes a huge amount of responsibility.

I think having two dogs is an excellent idea. My two dogs are the best of friends and are companions when we are not around. I did not get them both as puppies, my Pit Bull was three when I got my Lab. However my Pit Bull was extremely well socialized with dogs, and was neutered when I brought home my new puppy. Having two puppies is a lot of work and time. You may want to get some of the training done on the puppy you already have before you add double the work. As long as you keep your puppy well socialized you should be fine iintroducing a new puppy a little later. Having two dogs it is very important to have them neutered or sprayed. Unfixed dogs are more aggressive and less likely to get along

Do you work or go out of the house for any reason on a regular basis without your pet? laundry restaurants shopoping etc.
Of course you do. SO why ont get a pal for your pet to keep it company while you are gone. it is an excellent idea and your pet will thank you for it.
IT will be alittle extra work at first but you have to train one puppy right now you may as well train another at the same time. IT is alittle extra work for the second puppy but not that much extra. I train litters at a time and find it works out better because they help to train each other and have competition now with the others for who is better. I find it to be a great traing aid to have another dog around at the same time.
this is the advice that i follow when training.
I recommend pee pads to everyone.
I have 3 tiny miniature pinschers. they all use the pee pad faithfull. easier for females than males as females squat and males stand to pee. some are scened with hormones that make a dog want to pee there. Small dogs have special needs compared to their larger counter parts. Small dogs can't hold it for very long. Therefore I recommend setting aside an area in the home which the dog always has access to that it is OK to potty in- place the pee pad there. Jsut in case your are missing the dogs signals that she has to pee.
Usually a dog wil have to potty after they eat/drink wake up after a bath. so put the dog in the potty zone at these times. lots of priase, no discouragement (or your dig will hide when she has to potty)
if the dog potties in an undesirable area. make a terrible noise fuss while you are cleaning the mess. SO she knows this was a bad thing ot do. then nicely take her and the dirty terdy to the pee pad area, place the terd on the pad rub some of it into the pad and and speak soothingly. leave the dog there for a while in that spot to figure things out.
Repeat as often as necessary.
Keep all rugs shampooed and cleaned regularily. other wise the hormone or smell from previous terd will cause dog to want to go potty htere. Dogs are clean animals and like to potty in the same place repeatedly.
Also you can use the yard when the weather is nice for a potty area. But still a section of the home should be set aside for this purpose in case doggy just has to go and can't get access to the out side.
Dogs do want to please you But you have to make it possible for them to do that. work with your dog not against her.
I have trained 10 puppies into well mannered adults in the last year. Using pee pads and following this advise. People who have bought puppies from me all comment that they have been perfectly trained form day one and have not made mistakes and are perfect members of the family. So that's a good recommend.
Best wishes

Its always good to have your dog have another dog to play with but I would not recommend getting another puppy that is just more work on your part. It takes times to potty train a dog. I have a 10 month old pup and it took awhile for him to get it. I took him outside about every hour and used the same spot each time and also used a command word like get busy and it seemed to work well..he now goes to his spot on his own. You might want to try something like that or even try the training pads you can get them at any pet store

It's never a good idea to have two pups of the same age. They have a pecking order so it would be kind to them and to yourself if you waited at least a few months before bringing another puppy of a younger age into your home. Also if you train your current puppy to go potty outside then the new one will follow when you bring him/her into your home. It will be a much more peaceful home. :) So I suggest you wait a little while. Congratulations on your new pup and have a wonderful day!

U shouldn't get another dog because i doubt that the other puppy would be pottie trained.U can either get dog pampers,a cage, take your dog to a trainer, train your dog by yourself, or take the dog for walks at certain times.

That may not be a very good idea. That is twice the work! However, you could buy another pup when your pup you have right now is older and housebroken and knows all the manners. That would be a better idea. If you do have to time to get another puppy, (and i mean ALOT of time), and patience, (ALOT OF PATIENCE!) then go for it!
