Yes. Cats, contrary to popular belief, are not solitary animals. Just like people, they crave companionship of their own kind. I believe there is an article in the current "Cat Fancy" magazine about this subject.

Depends on the cat. Some like company some don't. They are adaptable and will cope either way. Generally if they've got used to being an only cat it's more difficult to introduce a companion but not usually impossible. Also cats, like people, get on better with some individuals than others. One of my cats for example has made friends with next doors cat. A new cat has recently moved into the area and they are currently in my garden giving him hell!

I think that they may be more occuppied and have more fun when they have companions but, some cats want you and only you, so decide on witch one your cat is

I don't know if they live longer, but I do know my cats LOVE each other. They play and cuddle and even argue sometimes!

I think they do, cats really develop good relationships with each other over time.
