Because in England and Wales, they close on Saturday night, reopen on sunday for 6 hours and close again until monday morning. In scotland however, 24 hours means 24 hours. I think they just close for christmas

Tescos are not open 24/7 365 coz those of us who work there do have homes to go to every now and again. As far as superstores and extras go they are open from 8am Monday until 10pm Sat, 10-4 Sun. We are closed on Xmas Day, Boxing Day and Easter Sunday because by law we are not allowed to open. Some stores are open on New Years Day but not all. Express and Metro stores do not open 24 hours. Express stores also have limited openning on Boxing Day. We have doors on so we can shut up shop and go home, after all, there is more to life than shopping!!

They are closed between 10pm on Saturdays and 10am. Sundays and then also from 4 or 5 pm on Sundays until 8am on Mondays. They also close on cetrain days like Christmas. Some stores close some of the doors late at night because the number of customers is less. They are not falsely advertising because they state on the opening times boards 24 hours Monday - Saturday and then the Sunday trading law times printed afterwards..

Not every Tesco store is open 24/7.Most tend to shut their doors round about midnight at the weekends, due to the drunken louts rampaging every where.
If they didn't have the locks and alarms, just think of the looting that would be going on.
If you were to actually understand all the laws, you would find that a majority of shops aren't allowed to stay open for 24 hours, seven days a week.

They might need alarms and locks on their doors because the store is closed for a major holiday. Also, in the event of a local or state or national crisis....stores may have to close. Severe weather may also close a store. Just a few ideas!

Ha ha I love it, thats two of your questions now. Yes you're right they are 24 hours until saturday night when they close and reopen on sunday morning which quite rightedly means they are not fully 24 hours and therefore falsely advertising.

There are places that do stay open 24 hours, 7 days a week year around. For example convenience stores. Maybe they need one for emergencies and have to shut down the store.

Coz they do close sometimes - no-where is actually open 24 hrs 7 days a week for a whole year, they would need some security

Because trading laws exist so can't open 24 hours on a Sunday - only from 11am - 5pm. It gives corner shops a chance but think things will all change soon and the corner shops will disappear.
